Lovely beach - perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers. The sand is slightly black so bring shoes / flip flops!! Nice walks can take you down to the beach if you prefer - if not a 10 min drive from Raglan

This was a must when visiting the area....watched so many surfing. It was cold and rainy but that didn't stop them. This would be a great place to swim during the summer.

Beautiful large vast black sand beach!! And absolute must if your coming to Raglan go for a walk out on the sand and breath in the fresh sea air straight off the coast!

Change rooms, outdoor showers, parking. Fun to watch the surfers. Paved but steep walkway down from parking lot to the beach.

Even in the middle on winter (July) this is a stunning place to visit. Not far out of Raglan township to visit. Keep to the speed of 50km through most of the town and local roads.

We visited on a clear but cold, windy mid winter's day. Black sand, boulders round and smooth, youngsters out surfing, whooping with joy as they came in from their fun. We picnicked on lush green grass at strategically placed picnic tables, strong against the elements....More
