We took the option of the loop walk using path 73 to reach the cave and path 50 to return along Lac Phillipe. This is a 10km walk which is much the same distance if you choose path 50 both ways. However the latter is...More

As others have mentioned it's about 5 km hike in each direction and the trails aren't extremely well marked. There's fairly good cell signal so you can actually use google maps if you get lost along the way (trail 73 takes longer). Your shoes will...More

Yesterday I took my 7 year old and my 9 year old on this little adventure. It was spectacular. Here's what you need to know. 1. Parking is $11 for the day. Go to the absolute end of the road to park, as that'll get...More

Lusk cave is closest to Parent beach parking lot. There's two paths to take to the cave. The easier one is a car wide pebbled road almost entirely. The harder one is through the forest with alot of ups and downs thin trail at times,...More

Visited for the second time on our trips from the UK. Lovely walk to get there. My children entered the caves with their uncle. They said the water was a lot higher than their previous visit but thought it was amazing. Definitely need a torch/flash...More

So glad we stopped at Lusk Cave. We have older children (13 and 10), and although I saw a few with water wings, not good for littles in my opinion. First off - go to the visitors centre to get directions. We got those, parked...More

Just a 2 small caves that are nice to visit, good for people who are claustrophobic because they are very open.

I recently camped at Gatineau Park. It wasn't until we looked at the park map that we saw a hiking trail marked with 'Lusk Cave' at its far end, and so we went. The #50 trail is wide and follows the lake from the 'Parent...More

We were expecting more caves than crevices. It's a 5km walk from the parking lot. We were told we could push a stroller down one of the paths - could not! I saw some people going down into the 'caves', but with the water and...More

I saw a couple of dogs on the hike none in the cave itself but if your dog can navigate rocks and altitudes and swim I don't see the problem.

I was just there last week when it was about 14-20 degrees with light rain. It was a pretty chilly day but the hike to the caves really warmed us up and the water wasn't ice cold like I thought it would be. Despite the... More
