The hike to the caves is beautiful and moderate - only the last 20 mins is spent going up/down gentle hills. We often park our bikes at the entrance path to the caves, and bring a picnic lunch and headlights. Rocks are sharp in places, and slippery, so unless you are an athletic dog (our dog joined us going through... More

I've been going to this cave for the past 25 years and I've done it about that many times and it never gets old. Every single time you go, the water levels are different so you don't know how extreme it will be which makes it exciting. And there are two caves, one easy and one hard. So you can... More

Great time! Got to walk the 30min ish up a trail to the caves. The cave was about waist deep in June. Obviously different season and after a rain fall it would be deeper or more shallow. There was a little girl about the age of 3 going through and swimming about 20x she was having a blast it looked... More

This was a wonderful find for people who want to combine a nice walk with a bit of adventure. You can go through the cave end to end but require a flashlight, bathing suit and water shoes. It was easy to navigate and families were there with children. It is a nice place to have a picnic.

Hidden little Gem about 45 minutes from Ottawa. Start off at a lovely lake with only paddled boats, hike for 1 hour to the caves. Last 1 km is a bit tough, but our kids thought it ranked a 7 1/2 out of 10 for fun, excitement and worth the trek. There are two sections, the first one has more... More

The cave was interesting but the walk through the cave was way too short. The walk to the cave from the parking lot, however, was way too long. There could have been a parking lot closer to the cave.

Great activity choice for a hot day in the great outdoors. Make sure you bring a bathing suit - towel - proper shoes/sandals to walk on the wet rocks, FLASHLIGHT, possible ziplock bags for cell phone or anything you don't want to have any accidents with.

Very good day trip! Lots of camping in the area. As for small kids, I'd recommend only doing the first cavern. We parked at Parent Beach and walked the 5 km on route 50 to Lusk Cave (wear running shoes; it took 1hr.). Other options: park at Smith Beach and reduce the walk somewhat; bike (bike stand at the end... More

Definitely bring a headlamp! I was nervous to go through since I was there on my own. But it is a short cave and very cool to see. I wore running shoes and would not recommend sandals.

My teens loved this place! So did my husband and I. The hike to the cave is enough of a trek so bring a snack or pack a picnic. The hike is beautiful. We found little swim spots to explore all over the place. The cave is dark so bring a flashlight, the ones that strap to your head are... More
