The museum will cost 10 Swiss francs but the gardens are free. It's a great place to come and walk with wonderful views along the lake into the mountains. Some very nice that is still free in Switzerland.

Lovely old historic castle with wonderful lakeside setting and extensive grounds. Wood working in museum is fabulous.

The Oberhofen Castle is uniquely situated right at the peak of the lake with beautiful flowers surrounding it.

We enjoyed the grounds very much. Pretty lake setting. Enjoyed the playground near by for even the odler kids.

We arrived by boat to spend a couple of hours. The castle was closed Monday, the day we arrived, but that didn't hinder us from walking the grounds. The weather Es magnificent. I was amazed at the structure from the outside, it's surrounding buildings as well. The grounds are well kept with many difference species of flowers, plants, and trees.... More

The castle is one of the most beautiful ones I've seen so far in Switzerland. The place and it's location has many merits: 1. It's located just 80 meters from the Oberhofen's harbor, so arriving by the public transportation boat from Thun or Interlaken is very recommended. The timetable could be found here: https://www.bls.ch/e/schifffahrt/fahrplan.php 2. For kids - it's adjust... More

The castle was closed on the day we visited, but we walked the gardens and was amazed by the views. A more picturesque location for a castle will be hard to find. The gardens are beautiful, clean and well maintained. I can see this as a perfect location for taking the most beautiful wedding photos. The castle itself is right... More

I visited a few castles including Thun, but this one is special. Right on the lake, this castle is magnanimous and is a must visit place if you around Thun, bern or Interlaken. How to reach? 1. Take a bus no. 21 from Interlaken OST Bahn station. 2. Get down at Oberhofen Dorf. 3. Voila... The view from the castle... More
