West Bay is what many consider the picture-perfect Caribbean destination: white sand, clear, calm waters and full service resorts. The variety of water activities include scuba diving, fishing charters, snorkeling and parasailing. Scuba diving and other outfitters leave directly from the beach so starting your water-based activities is easy and convenient.

We decided to spend the day at the beach and left around 8:30am in order to have enough time. We were told that the best place to snorkel was West Bay Beach. It was a 25 minute cab ride from the cruise port, and upon...More

I haven't been to West Bay in over 20 years. Beautiful beach, but if this is consider #20 on the list by whoever rates this site, simply not as Gorgeous, Stunning as Michael Rock Beach, Deena Beach, Soldado Beach, Grahams Private Island Beach, Bo's Resort...More

West Bay Beach is the jewel of Roatan. The snorkeling on the western most side of the beach is probably the best I've encountered anywhere in the Caribbean.

Was in port from cruise, hired private transportation to the beach and it included beach access. We paid 20 per person. The beach was nice but there were so many pushy vendors that it became obnoxious. The selling of bracelets and stuff is normal but...More

We stopped here while in port with our cruise. The beach was decent although there are a lot of pushy vendors. We stayed only a short while before heading back to our boat.

I have traveled to beaches all over the world. And there are two things that make this beach unlike any other. That is the snorkeling and the vendors. The beach itself is gorgeous. Powder white sand and crystal clear blue water. The snorkeling is the...More

This is probably the prettiest beach I've ever been to. The water is gorgeous and clear. We had a great time spending a couple hours here while in Roatan. Next time we hope to spend all our time at this beach while on Roatan.

It is a very short taxi ride from the port to West Bay, we have walked it a few times, however, it is a long walk. There are taxi vans running all over the island, usually 8.00 USD for 1 way.

There were lots of private transportation available just off the port. Make sure you get price of beach included or they will want 10 when you get here and 5 for chair. Our guide got all of that included for 20 a person.

I will second Banarama. Thats what we did. Their charge includes transportation a beach chair and one welcome drink. We felt like it was a good deal.
