Very interesting and educational. We saw numerous snakes including 3 types of Cobras and we got to hold a few none venomous snakes. The guy was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I'm glad that the snakes are released back into the wild at Yala national park after 2 week's as I feel that the snake farm is... More

The Snake Farm is an up-close and authentic view of Sri Lankan snakes and the third generation practitioner who provides free antivenom to workers and laborers in the fields. It's a feel good adventure activity and is a great excuse to head inland if only for an hour.

This is a good place, if you're interested in snakes, if not, youll find your time a little bit boring. The guy who owns the place has a big variety of snakes, from cobras to little harmless ones.

Wow! What can i say, this place was simply amazing!! Easy to find and great fun!! First of all we were introduced into the background of this place, stemming from generation after generation of the owners and snake drs. We then proceeded to take a comfortable seat. As there were only 2 if us at the time it was such... More

Wow what an experience. The owner brings out many different snakes from his villa. Some of the snakes are poisonous and some are not. You can hold some of the snakes. The owner tells you a little bit about each snake like age, what he feeds then and how to tell the difference between make and female. We payed 800... More

I am not sure who writes all the amazing reviews that made me decide upon visiting this place. First thing, it is not a farm but a shed (that would fit one big or two small cars) where this guy keeps around 25 cages with the snakes in total darkness. The show is seeing him picking each snake and placing... More

I've noticed nobody posted, how to get to the snake farm for as low budget as possible. Everyone just took a tuk-tuk or rented a scooter. So, for our good friends backpackers: Between Matara and Mirissa is a regular, very frequent bus traffic. A few kilometers from Matara, there is a big crossroad with a bus stop called Nupe Junction... More

We saw quite a few snakes here, including many kinds of cobras. One newly-captured cobra was NOT HAPPY!! Very exciting. The owners are called to collect snakes by Sri Lankans. Some snakes are kept to show the public, while others are returned to the wild. All snakes looked healthy. It was a thrill to hold so many beautiful snakes. Check... More

Either you like snakes or you don't - if you do not like snakes simple - do not go! Within a few minutes of my arrival with my TukTuk driver i had a very aggressive brown Cobra a few feet from me on the ground! The snakes are expertly handled by the person who is now third generation of snake... More

Great place to see some snakes. The owner is great and you get to hold the snakes. At first glance the place looks a little shady but it is a really nice experience.
