I loved this tour!! It's a family owned small organic farm. Our guide spoke very good English and showed us the whole process of coffee making (modern & antique ways). She was very knowledgeable. The coffee was tasty and cheap to buy! It includes transport with a very sweet driver; he stopped and let us take photos of the country... More

What a fantastic tour. One of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. Thank you for educating us on all the aspects of farming, producing, marketing and enjoying fine organic coffee. We took what we learnt on your farm and have totally converted to organically produced now. It was a great tour with an equally great guide!

We lucked into a truly wonderful tour, with a great translator, and much attention from Victor, the owner. He accompanied us all the way along, and started with farm, showed us the ancestral home of his wife which was a very primitive wooden structure, through some of the vegetation, and into his machinery for processing the beans. Victor spent 22... More

We arranged to visit this organic coffee farm, a 30 minute drive from Monteverde, through our hotel. The $30 per person fee included picking us up and bringing us back to our lodging. The driver was kind enough to let us stop to take pictures of the stunning mountain scenery and while he didn't speak English, he spoke to us... More

Our tour was interesting and informative. The coffee plantation was built with sustainability in mind. Fruit trees mixed in with coffee trees and more than one variety of coffee tree to keep genetic variety going. Coffee done the old fashioned way and some done with modern methods. The tour guide spoke English very well and the was quite knowledgeable about... More

We booked this through Pasion Costa Rica Tours and our guide Marcos walked us through with his friend who is the owner of El Cafetal Victor Ramirez. What a great tour. Far from the glitzy, touristy coffee tours, this is the real deal, the way most of the rural coffee growers do it. And Victor worked with the CR Coffee... More

This was a fantastic tour! First of all, the drive to San Luis is breathtaking. When you arrive, you are greeted by Victor (the owner) and learn that he has almost 30 years experience in the coffee industry. The tour is beautiful, informative, fun and personal! You receive a cup of coffee and homemade desserts at the end of the... More

Super good presentation about coffee in general, their own production, gardens with various plants. It was quite a bouncy trip from Monteverde, included, but it was worth it! Small groups and really good coffee in the end!

Thinking of a coffee tour in Monteverde? I might consider skipping this tour. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience that other reviewers had. We left hot, insect bitten and disappointed. Yes, the family was lovely and the guide was very genuine as most costa ricans are. But their was not a coffee bean to be found on a... More
