A 15 minute walk up from the Monteverde Cheese Factory, through a beautiful woodlands, takes you to the gallery of watercolor artist Sarah Dowell. Visiting her unique home, you'll see paintings which often depict local wildlife and jungle scenes. Colorful signs with arrows show the way. It is also possible to drive most of the access road.

Walking through the cloud forest to Sarah's gallery was one of the highlights of my trip. Sarah herself is gracious and an extremely talented artist. I spent about an hour looking at her gallery; her paintings are incredible and merit a good, long look.

Sarah is very welcoming and her art is beautiful, it's a nice walk to the studio. My boyfriend and I went there after our stop at the cheese factory.

A wonderful gallery in an intimate space off the beaten path. Talking with the artist in her home, the art, the whole experience is one of a kind...and the paintings very special and reasonably priced.
