Huge pavillion filled with butterflies. It was a mesmerizing experience if you love butterflies. Every species from CR all fluttering around you as you walk. Several landed on us, as the guide said, looking for minerals. This was our 3rd butterfly experience in Costa Rica and by far the best.

We had a personal guided tour of the Butterfly Garden; our guide was knowelegable about the butterflies and showed us the various chrysalises that looked like delicate jewels. We saw mostly Blue Morphos and Monarchs butterflies. I would have liked to spend more time, but the guide moved us along quickly.

Do not skip this. This was absolutely fascinating. I learned so things about butterflies that I never knew. You will be blown away. We got to see so many butterflies and even were able to get up close to a macaw.
Definitely check this out, especially if you have young or teen kids. This was my favorite part of visiting Selvatura.

We loved this butterfly garden and saw quite some species. We also got good explanations from a guide on habitat and butterflies.

This used to be a great butterfly garden, but this week it was bad! They had only 2 species in the huge dome.

we didn't know what to expect from this tour but our guide was very knowledgeable and showed us many characteristic of different butterflies such keeping safe from predators trough differing camouflages.

We visited this exhibit two years in a row and we will visit this corner of paradise again next year as a true retreat for the mind and soul.

The butterflies were amazing colors, flitting around right in front of you. The guide was quite the expert and the indoor habitat let visitors see all the stages of butterfly development. What a beautiful an fascinating place.

The Selvatura Park has many offerings for travellers and botany enthusiasts, and the Butterfly Garden is worth including on your visit. With plenty of flowers and a variety of butterflies, it's an interesting and educational place to experience the unique nature in the area.
