Peaceful and Calm
May 2021 • Friends
A beautiful peaceful island with nothing to do but walk and look at the views. We were there in off season and just post Covid so it was tranquil and quiet. We immediately went to the hotel to make reservations when we landed. I though the food was very good if a bit overpriced. There are no cars so you only hear bird song, sea gulls screeching and boat motors on the water.

Lost in Nature
Aug 2020
The island was an amazing discovery. We went straight to the beach on a trail that went through the private section of the island. Very few people on the beach, but especially the incredible, wonderful Silence. My son said he felt he was communing with Nature and it's true, the beautiful seascape and the impression of being at the end of the world put us in a meditative state.

A true hidden gem
Sep 2019
Beautiful archipelago only half an hour by boat from Granville boasts many rocky coves two outstanding beautiful quiet beaches two 19th century forts and an older church It also has two good restaurants - although in season booking is essential. Well worth a visit, you can walk around most of it in a day.

The most beautiful island but...
Aug 2019 • Family
This is the most beautiful island, but it’s very expensive. They have a captive audience so they can charge as they like. Beware of the boat companies who try to pack as many people on a boat at once. When you book, the boat company will tell you that there is a boat trip you can take whilst you are out there. They told us that from that boat you can see dolphins and seals. This is a CON!!! There are none! It’s just a boat ride around the island on a very oversubscribed boat! We were packed in like sardines in a can! If you visit the island, I would recommend waiting until you get there and then I would book one of the small boats that the locals seem to have on offer. However, the beaches are lovely. So is the walk around the island. I would say this island is absolutely stunning, but it is not in anyway peaceful because of the hundreds if not thousands of people they ship there on a daily basis. I wouldn’t recommend the whole experience.

Beautiful island, but take a sailboat to get there
Jul 2019
The island itself is beautiful, with splendid views.
But we increased our experience by taking a sail boat to get there, le LYS D'OR. The trip takes a few hours, but on the way back we saw some playful dolphines. In all a succesfull daytrip.

Beautiful views

Visited here for a day while staying in Granville. Lovely walk around the island with stunning views for almost 360 degrees. Boat trip took about 45 minutes - bit choppy on the way out!

this is a beautiful island

We travelled by boat to Les isle Chausey. The weather wasn't great but scenery is awesome......totally will return for a picnic very soon.We decided against going to the hotel restaurant as our friends visited and said the food wasn't great and the service was awful. Again the island is wonderful.

Sailing in Chausey Islands
Aug 2018 • Family
We had a great time staying in Chausey Islands, the tides are big, the landscape is so different when tide is high or low. We bought lobsters from local fishermen.

Visit to Les Iles Chausey
Aug 2018 • Couples
Lovely boat trip to the islands followed by picnic lunch. We then walked to the beach, the one a bit further out near to the new fort is probably the best one (although no lifeguard in attendance). They do have a lifeguard at the beach the nearest to the boat drop off. The bay at the second one is very sheltered and the water is clear for swimming. I did find some of the walking a bit difficult, had to watch I didn't trip up and on one particular occasion I had to put my towel down and sit andslide down it as I just couldn't get down as the "step" of the rock was too high (I have problems with an ankle I broke several years ago). We had good weather, would say not a place to visit if its raining.

Always delightful
Jun 2018 • Solo
I recently visited Chausey again, but this time on a RIB from Island Rib Voyages rather than my own boat. Walking around was a visual delight, and our lunch was superb too. Chausey is the largest archipelago in Europe with 52 islets at high water and about 360 rocks and islets at low tide. The tidal range is enormous.
