We tried to visit twice, the signs are useless useless hopeless pathetic. We had to give up after touring so many backstreets. There's a small sign outside the town and that's is !!. But then most signing in lanzarote is crepe useless unacceptable

This was one of our most unforgettable visits in Lanzarote. The tour of this writers home and library was an enlightening and intimate experience. His art works too are worth seeing. And our guide was very informative and pleasant. A great, great experience.

Have you heard of Jose Saramago or read any of his books? Maybe not. Here is an opportunity to visit his last house, have coffee on his veranda and learn more about this remarkable man who dedicated his life to writing about the struggle to be truly human. The tour guide is excellent, the house/garden are beautiful and you can... More

A relaxing spot. Saramago lived the last part of his life in Lanzarote and his modest but beautiful house gives you a good introduction and sense of the man and his works. Allow a good hour.

What can you write about a Portuguese writer how left his homeland many years ago. He lived and died in Tias.

We visited after reading TA reviews and looking for somewhere off the beaten track to visit. A lovely home to visit with wonderful artwork, we felt like Saramago had just popped out and left us in comfort. Our young guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, we had never heard of the Author but bought several of his books to read.... More

Decided to visit this place after spotting it on Tripadvisor. Makes a nice change to visit something a bit modern and see where Jose Saramago lived. Excellent tour guide and headsetsin English plus many other languages. Would visit again on another holiday here.

For the ones that are into literature and have read or heard about Jose saramago, this is a must see. A small house, where you get a tour around his private piece of decoration and the story behind, finishing up with a Portuguese coffee on his kitchen, just the way saramago used to do with all of his visitors! Definitely... More
