Beautiful, short walk through the garden with lots of talk about Hawaiian plants, flowers and culture. Chocolate tasting at the end was fun too. It is right at the start of the Road to Hana so you can drive all or part of that afterwards. There are also lots of other waterfalls they can direct you to.

Jiva was a great tour guide. Funny. Engaging. Informative. Made the experience really wonderful. A good way to spend a few hours away from the typical tourist destinations.

A very leisurely paced hike with a very informative guide. He educated us about a lot of local fauna. After the hike and waterfall viewing, the chocolate tasting was very enjoyable.

Apparently I can only leave a review if I made the booking through Viator.

‘My wife and I visited The Kings Gardens on a referral from a local friend. As a ‘wildcrafter’ I was overjoyed to learn so much about the food, medicines and flora/ fauna that was to be found there; so much knowledge.

The fresh made chocolate and teachings spoiled us, no more lesser substances for me from now on .. Mahalo. ‘

If you want to donate your money as a priority then, okay. Otherwise very overpriced. However the waterfall you see from the distance you can see better ones on the road to the black sand beach. and almost all the vegetation. This is a short 40 minutes walk very very controlled by the guide inside a preserve garden. The guide was super controlling. I was 20 seconds behind the next person in line (taking a picture), and he recriminated me that this was not a private tour! This tout was not the wild hiking I was expecting. The guide does not take his eyes off everyone like a commandant. It was so weird to feel such a control of every step you make. The chocolate with coconut oil taste bad and the other pieces of chocolate were only okay. It was not worth the money for me. Thanks.

Jiva was so awesome as a guide! He made us laugh as we walked through the Jurassic Park type jungle. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of this tour, we learned so much and tried the tastiest chocolate, what else could we ask for?

2. The plants are amazing to see in person!
3. It is a nick walk in the garden

Highly recommend! I liked that it’s a shorter hike but a ton of plants are packed in. Very educational and our tour guide was very enthusiastic and eager to answer questions. The chocolate tasting portion was a great way to cool off and I was able to learn about the benefits of real cocao. Felt very personable and we were very happy to contribute to a good cause.
