This Monastery where the movie the Name of the Rose was filmed is a very good example of medieval times. In very good conditions and with a beautiful surrounding of green and flowers. Ideal to visit on a sunny afternoon.

this was THE worst part of our trip. parking costs a fortune: EUR4.00 for 24hrs, with NO option to pay less (we were there for 30min) Entrance fee of EUR9.00 also on the very high side. unfriendly parking staff.

"What does he say master?" The Name of the Rose is a wonderful novel and one of my favourite films starring Sean Connery in his post-Bond career. So we thought we would visit the monastery where many scenes were filmed. The audio guide was available...More

Walk around, rest, watch, enjoy some food, wine, beer, come back in various seasons, buy tickets for the Rheingau Musik Festival - Kloster Eberbach is a place worth visiting at 365 days a year

If you like an atmosphere of hustle and bustle, laughter and loud conversation, then this is your place. Good service, excellent food, but for us older ones a bit loud. But try it!!! Absolutely.

I attended this event in Kloster Eberbach for the Easter Egg event which occurs once a year. The last tine I attended this was in February 2016. I enjoyed the event and purchased several decorative eggs. Well worth visiting and purchasing.
