Restored to its 1914 glory, this station is a beautiful, historical landmark where millions of people come and go each day.

Along the street you can peek into a pachinko casino, stop in a maid cafe, there is a great craft brewery with a beautiful view of this district, or try a themed cafe.
Before I even mention anything else about the Mecca of manga and anime I have to say it's totally worth a visit just to see the sights and experience the different subculture.

The shrine shares the site with a fascinating Japanese War Museum, dedicated to the military history of Japan.
But for those of us who are non-Japanese, it is extremely interesting and informative to visit the museum and learn what the official Japanese view is on all those wars, and why so many of them happened.

The seats were comfortable enough and site lines were good even though they run nets pretty far down the line.

The Emperor's lounge, which we were not allowed to photograph, was an impressive site with its carved wood wall panels and silk wallpaper.

As with the other “sights” in Tokyo, you have to park a good distance from the “sight”, so extensive walking is unavoidable.
