One special thing is that the local people row boats with their feets and you'll see they're along the lake. Moreover, it is so amazing to ride along the lake and the houses are built on water. There are also some shops selling in the lake - it's very surprised for me. In addition, you should buy the costumes, made of cottons, in Inle and they are so fresh to wear.
I went there when I was about 12 years old, so it's kind of a distant memory. But, I still remember the special things and memories with my family. After the pandemic, I really really want to go there again.

The wooden monastery building is perfectly preserved. Of great interest is the gallery of statues of Buddha. And of course it’s interesting to watch the students.

My wife and I had a boat ride to this village, followed by a bicycle ride for 15 kilometres across the Village to see the views and see how some of the local people live.

We had the opportunity to enter a few houses to meet the locals.

This cave is full of Statutes of the Buddha, all painted in gold or with gold leaf applied. Modest dress and no footwear

Lotus garden unique in that you get to see the lotus flower and then get demonstration what that can use lotus flower(stems) for.

For the stem they extract a string vibe like material that they can make clothes out of.

You can see them make something through all the phases from the lotus and of course gift shop if you want to buy scarf etc

The monastery itself is an old teak building with rice fields out of the front; inside is a cool open hall which is interesting. But, the highlight of this monastery is the old monk U Kon Da La who loves to chat. He is well educated and speaks good English and loves to tell you about the history of the monastery and himself (he loves chocolate and milk). After chatting he was eager to have photos taken with us and requested we post them to him. Off the beaten track, our guide who is local didn't even know it was there, but easy to find on google maps.

This place is off the beaten track for tourists, which is why there are so few reviews for it.

When my wife and I visited this place, by boat and then by walking some distance from the lake, there were no other tourists here.

The design and layout of this Temple, is very different from other temples. See the attached photos for proof.

The cave behind the Monastery/Pagoda is unique and a historical place of interest to both the local buddhists and tourists. Many Statues of the buddha in all forms. Interesting place to visit

It looks like only the beginning of collecting arts and artefacts used by the people around. It is not much worthwhile to visit, but a visitors visit may help the concerned authorities to add more things. Lets hope for the best.

I totally love this place. The pagoda looks more beautiful when being witnessed in real life. It takes a bit of money if you want to take photos in the pagoda but not much, just 5000 Kyats and you will receive a piece of photo in Myanmar.

Zu zu’s cooking class was fantastic from beginning till end. She is super sweet and fun to be around. The whole experience from market visit to cooking was fun and the food was absolutely delicious...a shame we couldn’t finish all of it! Zu zu is also such a kind helpful person who had helped us have an amazing time in Nyuangshwe. Will do it many times over, thank you for a great time Zu zu <3

I LOVED this cooking class! Thi Thi is really amazing. You pick what you want to cook from a menu and you go to a local market to get the food. She explains what the different foods are, what their purpose is and where it’s grown. And then you cook all of the food. You really get involved with all aspects of prepping and cooking (not just watching or things pre-prepared). Her English is really great and she answers all of your questions and does a great job of telling you what is going on. She’ll even adjust the spice level to your preferences. And add on top that the food is delicious!
