If you enjoy wine and like to learn the real fine details the go into making a great glass of wine, than this is really a tour for you. We were just my wife and I and had a fantastic tour. We walked through the vines and learned the details of the different grapes and why they were arranged the way that they were, the sugar level of each etc...we then topped everything off with an incredible and very generous meal paired with the wine. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

I went with a small group for lunch at Establecimiento Juanico. The food was delicious. We found out that the chef was a member of the Deicas family, owners of the vinyard. The care and attention given to the dishes was amazing. First we ordered the croquetitas, which were made with slowed cooked pork meat simmered in tannat wine. The taste and the texture of the croquetas was amazing, a must try! Then, we ordered the pasta noir, the salmon, and the mollejas. The pasta noir had a just right spicy taste, the mollejas and the salmon were delicately sesasoned, a perfect balance of different flavors. The portions are generous. The salad has fresh and tender green leaves like it is hardly found in restaurants. The waiter also brought a basked with two diferenet kinds of bread. The "orugo" bread with grapes, and flavored with spices and salt, a mediterranean flavor. There is also a large selection of wines of which I particularly liked the Botrytis. Overall, a top quality restaurant, at a high mid range price, with abundant portions, in a nicely decorated place with big windows from where to look at the field and vinyards. I will definetly go again.

On the outskirts of Montevideo within Canelones Department and in the middle of a half urban half rural area is this gem by all means. A wonderful visit of this ancient winery, still a family business which makes the attention to be almost personal. The visit can include lunch in lovely facilities which were the old barn of the original winery. Menu is fixed but contemplates especial food restrictions. On the day of my visit the main course was barbecue of a selection of different meats all cooked to perfection. The wine tasting is superb. Each strain selected especially to combine with the meal.

Franco thank you for the amazing time that you provide us. We stayed one day tasting the great wines and food and also knowing more about the winery history. Franco was a great host, so fun.
    We will return soon

What a charming and delightful afternoon we had here! We made the reservation for lunch from a recommendation from the Guruguay book. We had no idea that lunch came with FIVE glasses of wine - and these were healthy pours! The winemaker is very friendly and passionate about his craft, knowledgeable and happy to answer all questions. The meal was simple but delicious, served on a beautiful setting outside in the shade. The service was attentive and the price very reasonable. I’d love to go back!!

It has everything a winery should have and show. The old meeting the modern. A delight for your eyes while visiting and for your palate when tasting. Personal sommelier explains all you should know about each wine, color, smell, tears on the cup, aftertaste. Must visit if you enjoy wines, with the chance to select the reserved wine of your choice from the wine cellar.

If you love the beach, historic buildings, casual barefoot ambiance and a little
shabby shiek, this may be the place for you!.

When we arrived, we wrung the huge wrought iron bell and quickly Jose, the owner and property manager greeted us like we had known him for years. What a nice start!

Jose, gave us some history on the property and then brought us a cold drink and showed us our room. The room was quite large facing the sea with a balcony.
It had a great bed, ample storage and a refrigerator.

We decided to eat in and Jose provided us some options for the entree.
We had dinner on one of many cover terraces and the food was excellent.
Just as we started eating, it began to rain very hard so we were glad we had not chosen one of the tables in the courtyard.

The inn sits nearly on the beach and has a paved access walk down to the beach.
The beach and the adjoining dunes were beautiufl and fairly deserted.

The breakfast buffet the following morning was excellent. A great variety of
sweet rolls, cheeses, fruit, toast and jams, juices and great coffee.

When we departed later the next day, Jose presented us with a CD of his music.
We were not aware that he wore multiple hats!

Overall, a very peaceful and relaxing property with great management.
We will definitely return for another wonderful dinner and some beach time.

Superb wine tasting with Manuel and his family. They were kind enough to do it for me alone and was a truly fantastic evening. The wine and viticultural exploration was incredible but perhaps even more so was the warm welcome given by him and his family. What started as a wine tasting ending up being a discussion long into the evening about wine, Uruguay, history and the state of the World in general! I could have stayed all night (and wasn’t far off!) but eventually left them in peace. A unique and wonderful experience hosted by a truly warm and welcoming Uruguayan family. Gracias

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this family owned and operated winery and vineyard. And, the wines here are delicious. We only wish that they were available in Canada. This was definitely the highlite of our visit to Uruguay.

We drove into the farmyard on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by the owner. Without hesitation he showed us around his winefarm and also offered us a mini wine tasting allthough they were not open. The quality of the wine is of a high standard and the winery is worth a visit.
