What a great excursion! It was fun driving the boat (even without power steering) to Kades Reef, then snorkelling on the reef before driving the boat back again. Best snorkelling on the island.

Have just come back from my 2nd visit to Carlisle Bay, Antigua. The main reason for going back was to have tennis lessons with Ken (Kenneth Gonsalves-Barriero). Warmly welcomed and even remembered after 6 years I had morning lessons that in my opinion are the best lessons I have ever had. (I have 4 hours of lessons a week back in UK so have a lot of experience with coaches.) Ken is a genius at spotting what you need to work on and in 2 weeks he vastly improved my weaknesses. Ken is not only a brilliant, talented and experienced coach but also got a wicked sense of humour that made me laugh throughout the 2 weeks. Carlisle Bay is wonderful and the biggest asset is Ken. Can't wait to go back asap for more work on my backhand. A big Thank You Ken and hope to see you soon. Annika

Had a wonderful time at the water park and the beach. Worth the visit, friendly and hassle free. Only gripe was having to pay by cash.

We arrived early at Salty Dogs and was greeted by a friendly guy who went through the paperwork whilst there were a team of mechanics getting the buggies ready. We had a great time following our escort who knew the area very well. We ended up at a very beautiful beach with lovely clear water. We stayed there for 10 minutes and made our way back. The buggies are a little old but they didn't break down, always a bonus!!! Thank you Salty Dogs

I don’t even know where to begin in explaining how truly wonderful our whole day excursion with Brenda yesterday was.
Brenda previous took us to St. John’s for the morning and was explaining everything on our journey, the history of every place we passed, the names of large building etc. Her knowledge was so impressive so when she told us she did say tours around the island we jumped at the chance of her taking us around. We arranged a date and time pick up for a few days later.

On pick up from our hotel, Brenda was early (we had arrange 09:30 start but my partner and I both hate being late so are early for everything) so we began our tour at 09:15. Brenda had planned an itinerary before hand and we had suggested some places we’d like to add to the list and visit so she happily accommodated this for us too.
The first place we went was Shirley heights, Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre and then down into Nelsons Dockyard. She timed it so perfectly knowing that if we got there early enough we would be ahead of the large number of cruise ship passengers that descend there every day… she was not wrong. Just as we left all the sites, 5-6 minibus loads of people arrived at these places. I honestly can not stress how thoroughly grateful I am of this because we got the most wonderful picture of everything without a fight for the best spot or being rushed to get out the way.
When we were at each location Brenda gave us as much time as we needed and let us look around alone and enjoy every moment of it.
She was the most careful and cautious driver you could imagine which for us was perfect because the Antiguan roads are somewhat horrendous.
She took us to the original sugar plantation, Devils Bridge, Fort James, showed us some wonderful beaches and lots of other places (the list is actually massive) and our final stop was jolly harbour for the sunset. We got back to our hotel at 18:30pm and both said how much of brilliant day we had and got to see so much and learnt so much from Brenda.
Not only is Brenda full of every single bit of knowledge about Antigua, she’s so passionate about the island and loves what she does which makes her even more of a special person.
I want everyone to experience the wonderful day we did. Thank you so much Brenda you are a super woman.

I didn't stay here but walked down the beach to check it out intrigued by the tents. Its top notch glamping. Instead the tents was a beautiful bed, night stands, dresser and lamps. Each tent has a private outdoor shower with a beautiful sink surrounded by tropical plants. I was told you are served breakfast every morning and can order prepared dinners to cook over your own private bon fire. I loved the beautiful hand carved lounge chairs. This is a public beach so you probably want to avoid cruise ship days.

Given a holiday to commemorate the burial of our former Prime Minister, we decided to navigate the trail to Signal Hill. Being the oldest group member, I needed occasional help. However it was such a thrill to finally reach the top. The view was breathtaking. The air quality was superb.

Barbuda by Sea on the Catamarran Excellance
This is a great trip, the catamaran Excellance is a large boat & has a great crew. They look after all your needs to ensure you have a fun time on the crossing from Antigua to Barbuda & back. If you have a motion sick issue I would take a pill to help keep very thing under control. If not enjoy the ride. Barbuda has miles of white & pink sand beaches & many other site seeing adventures, birds, old building, ect.
Lots to eat & drink & great music to listen to both ways, well worth the ticket price.
