Nice and windy in the evening. Good for watching sunset. Many free parking lots available on weekday. Open space for flying kite or just relax.

The park is opened to public but all the trails, except the view point trail, are closed because the bridge is under repair. Entrance fees of RM20 per person for non-malaysians.
There is no food or drink stall so bring your own food and drinks. Wear long sleeve shirt and long pants as there are many mosquitoes. We were warned of crocodiles in the area so strictly no swimming at the beach. The accommodations (hostal and lodge) are not available for booking so only day trip is possible.

Close to the old town of Bintulu, this Chinese temple is one of the (or maybe the) most beautiful building in the area. For sure something to visit when in Bintulu.

Admission is free. The environment for the animals require maintenance. Most of the cages and enclosures were not clean. Unconsumed food should be removed after some time. There were algae on walkways so be careful when walking especially when wet after the rain. Lots of mosquitoes so do wear long sleeve shirt and pants.

There wasn't much to do in this mall. If you need nice fashion cloth and cheap, there Padini. Spend a bit time to window shop it's still ok. Overall if a lot of free time then can come here.

Very limited shopping experience. Compared to other malls in the area, this place is worth a miss. Starbucks and KFC and a couple of sports shops were about the only places I actually went in to. It is clean and cool, but it felt very left out in comparison to the other malls.

This beach is nit frequented by the locals as they have other beachs to go to, but this place is equally good and good for morning stroll or an evening walk.

The Pakat Global Sports Center next to the Medan Selera at Jalan Sultan Iskandar Bintulu is sure an attraction with the new management.
I was there a couple of nights ago and the after office crowd was there. On weekdays the crowd started the futsal around 7 pm with different teams taking the court for at least one hour. In between the futsal some of the players got into table tennis. The management mentioned that they are going to add a pool/snooker table soon.
There were also players that came with their family. All because of the food court next door.
What a good place...the sports center for health and fun....and the food court for meals and drinks.

    1. The name : This is a jungle trekking trail and is different from "Taman Tumbina Bintulu" (aka "Taman Tumbina Zoo" in Google Maps) which is a botanical and zoological park 5 minutes walk away. The two places are next to each other but not connected.

    2. Where's the start point? Nothing much online to show first time visitors where the entry point is. First note that there is only one way in and out. The entrance is directly opposite the Imperial Suites Bintulu. Once you're there, you can't miss it as the entrance/exit and the signboard is right by the main road.

Tip: The Entry Point is at the pin "Jungle Trekking Taman Tumbina Bintulu" on Google Maps.

    3. What to wear? It would be good to wear proper trekking shoes or at least sports shoes although I saw one in slippers and another in leather shoes. You'll definitely need a towel - I unfortunately forgot mine, a mini disaster. And water of course. The trees provide quite a bit of shade on a sunny day. Not many mosquitoes to bug you.

    4. Signages: There is a map at the entry/exit point but it's not of much use because there's just only one signage - Tupai Junction - that I saw along the way. I didn't see the next signage - Rhino Junction - and so just walked on blindly, choosing at random when I reach a junction. I think I took the shortest path but I did not encounter any signages along the way. There were also no coloured markings like in Similajau even though there were 3 coloured trails on the map. I think the locals will know the ground better through local knowledge. Supposed to have more signages from the internet photos I saw dating a few years back. Perhaps I've missed them totally or maybe they might have collapsed over the wear and tear of time.

    5. Try to avoid going on a rainy day. There are already many slippery patches on a sunny day. The terrain is undulating but manageable, albeit with lots of perspiration as it's quite humid there.

NB: For birders, bad news. I could hear but never did see any birds. Not one that I could snap a shot. The only flying creatures I saw were butterflies and dragonflies.

    It's basically a wet market.
You can also buy some local product here.
    Price is quit cheap.
They even have some local restaurant in the 1st floor.

It was my first time visiting this centre and I can say that the place is clean and comfortable. There are a lot of games we can try. In order to play the game, you will need to view the value of token needed near the insert token slot. The token can be collected from the counter near the entrance with price Rm1 per token. This place is one of the place to be if you want to avoid boring weekends. As long as you’re not overspending of course.

    Rate : 4 for Service

I stopped to eat at the Food court with my brother. I am very upset with this service. My brother ordered a coconut water drink and when it arrived at our dining table, the coconut water broke and we asked for it to be replaced but the workers there only gave us plastic glass. The water in the coconut was running out. I hope things like this don't happen again. The customer should come first. The food we ordered, steamed chicken rice, was very satisfying.
