What travellers are saying
- Stephen OSale, UK29 contributionsThis was booked very last minute, I paid via their website for the afternoon tour at 10.45am the same day as something to do before we were picked up for our flight at 5.25pm.
We travelled via Bolt taxi from Bang Tao beach, which was 225 baht.
When we arrived the staff couldn't be more welcoming and took our ticket details whilst we were provided with complimentary cold drinks. They offered to provide a free ride back to our hotel after the tour, which we accepted.
The tour itself began with an introduction to the sanctuary and then feeding the elephants by hand with the food provided FOC. Each elephant has its own mahout who cares for them and sleeps in a little house right outside the elephant's pen for the night.
The elephants are free to roam the jungle around the sanctuary when they aren't being fed and bathed as part of the tour.
After feeding, you are given huge buckets of wet mud and can give the elephants a mud bath, so be prepared to get messy!
It is then time to wash off the mud in the pool with the animals then finally scrub them down under huge showers with brushes provided.
The wonderful experience is completed with a succulent Taiwanese meal and drinks.
Would definitely recommend it.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natalie SBrisbane, Australia581 contributionsGreat local market selling tshirts, trinkets and sunnies. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies as well as a number of stalls selling meat skewers, fried chicken, pad Thai, desserts juices and more. We tried the Japanese chicken skin and chicken/spring onion skewers they were both yum, fresh fried chicken and chargrilled octopus skewers all washed down with some tasty cocktails from the cocktail stand - great value at 100 baht each. Nice way to spend a Thursday or Monday night. Plenty of tuk tuks waiting to take you home as well.Written 20 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SujoyPAustralia564 contributionsWe visited the Boat Avenue markets twice during our visit to Phuket in in March last year and really enjoyed it both times, even though it was super crowded, so we were looking forward to returning.
Being low season, it was a great deal quieter, with far fewer stalls, but we still enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around, and visited some of the permanent shops in the area too.

My mother is 84 and most of the tours seemed to be designed for 20 somethings. THe elephants were brought to us and we fed them for a short time paying for the food. It was by far the best way for my mother to fulfill her desire to see the elephants. the animals we saw were well treated as far as we could see but there were clearly a lot of visitors in areas we did not visit. I think we may have had the best experience!Written 7 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jason BottinMount Barker, Australia46 contributionsPorto de Phuket has a nice selection of eateries and bars as well as an excellent supermarket with ready made meals and an eat in restaurant. The shops surrounding the eateries have a nice selection and are geared more towards the upper market shopper. This is by no means an outlet mall and does not present as such either. The only real downside is that outside of restaurants, bars, beauty treatments and the supermarket, there really are only a handful of shops to visit. Good for a few hours of shopping, not for a full day trip.Written 18 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was concerned at first because I am a clay court player, not to worry, the surface at the academy is the latest plexi-cushion and was not a problem at all. quite comfortable really. I hit with the Master trainer Konstantin Kravchuk for 1 hour and what a great experience. He is not only a very skilled instructor, worked on my serve and forehand but also himself a former #78 ATP ranked player in the world. I asked him to dial it up a bit and just wow, great lesson.
From Elle at the front desk to the girls working in the cafe everyone was super helpful and did a great job. I also highly recommend the food, I had a scrambled egg with cheese croissant for breakfast that was incredible. I had such a good time I rerouted my trip to come back next week.
