Myself and friends Googeled places to visist in Riebeeck Kasteel to taste wine and were surprised that Meerhof has a Craft beer and Wine tasting available. The trip was with friends and we stopped there first. The men did the the craft beer tasting which was great except no explanation of the the style of beers whats so ever. Just a chart with the beer discription on it, and the beers ploked in frontof us. Beers were generally good though. Next the Wine tasting not bad R50 for 6 wines and I picked the wines that between two people, a couple sharing, could taste almost there entire range - which all couples did. That been tasting 12 wines, on my advise. Wines were good especially the Sauvignon blanc and a few others. Prices good, staff freindly and worth visiting. Great view over the valley of Reibeeck Kasteel as well.

Gallery owner, very friendly. Willing to engage and explain the works on show. First encountered this Gallery many years ago when they were exhibiting sculptures from Marke Meyer. Unfortunately that time all the sculptures were already sold. Managed to source one at a later date. Visited again when we were in this lovely friendly town. Currently showing work from a number of African artists very interesting, some of which is an African twist on Andy Warhol. There is also exhibits from the gallery owner's own mother, depicting her journey as a refugee at the end of WWII from Eastern Prussia (now part of Poland) driven out by the on coming Russian Soviet troops. Recommend a visit. If the current paintings / exhibits are not to your taste, then I would suggest you go back next time you are in town. As mentioned above they change the exhibits quite frequently

The lady in the tasting room was very helpful and took us on a short cellar tour explaining things. We tasted some lovely wines and bought quite a bit. Even though when you walk in it feels a bit industrial and not your typical wine tasting facility it was nice.

We ended up in Riebeek Kastell and even though it was Sunday, Jill at he Kollective was able to offer an exciting testing of chenin blanc from different winemakers - fascinating what potential that grape has. Great to have a place where you can try various smaller winemakers' products with a knowledgeable and funny person

This place cannot be described, even photos won't do it justice. You just have to visit in person when in Riebeek Kasteel.

Wanted to buy a book, a passerby recommended Aitsa.

It’s a real little nook with bits and bobs. Jams, toffees, lovely leather pieces and all sorts. Presented well and you could stroll around without feeling rushed.

Staff are friendly, a nice range of items and a useful second hand book corner.

New, old, cheap and expensive - you will find some interesting old items here. My daughter found a very funky pendant light for her bedroom. Take your time and look in all the nooks and crannies.
