An early drive around the park as the morning mist faded was really beautiful. We saw plenty of deer, monkeys and peacocks. The highlight was seeing a rhino nonchalantly munching on his breakfast. Plenty more to see, if we had the time.

I was so overwhelmed to see the unique culture and lifestyle of the Tharu people up close. The way they have conserved their traditions is just amazing. Cultural dance program from this community is must for every traveler who intends to visit Chitawan National Park.

Funny and entertaining experience. The centre is pretty big and at the end of the show the audience can join and dance with the performers

Very interesting place where you can find more about the Tharu community's history and culture. Daily objects, paintings and explanations are exhibited along with photos. This complete work gives a very rich knowledge about the Tharus.
The museum is not only a place where things are showed, it is also a research center where researchers of the whole world come to give their contributions and learn more. It is thus involved in the life of the community and the preservation of its culture. 2 big assets : the persons who work at the museum are very friendly, and for those who want to dig the topic, articles are available :).

Pop in and introduce yourself to Ram Krishna, watercolour & acrylic artist & gallery owner. A very warm welcome, excellent English speaker, lovely family, wide variety of painted topics... walked away with an elephant watercolour for way too cheap. Ram aims to complete 1 painting per day and often sits outside the gallery painting for all to see. Well worth a visit and making a friend.
