We found great results, but some are outside Badlands National Park. Showing results in neighbouring cities.

Badlands Wall

This is an amazing National Park which has unusual rock formations, and gorgeous and unique elements of both Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon.
It’s a great place to bike, hike or just take in some scenic views of nature that are uniquely beautiful!

Very picturesque! the entire park is a must see! take plenty of water, a hat and sunscreen especially if you visiting mid day! just a wonderful spot!

Door Trail
#4 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
It reminded us of our hike down to the base of Bryce Canyon in that you really felt you were “within” the rock formations and experiencing the unique qualities of the park.
Best nature hike, especially for kids
Notch Trail
#5 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
This little trail was our favorite by far- it had great access and views of geological features, flora and fauna, a quirky stair/ladder, safe-but-gripping cliffside walks, and an amazing view of the park.
Exploring Badlands National Park is unforgettable!
Roberts Prairie Dog Town
#6 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
There are lots of opportunities to see prairie dogs at Badlands National Park, but this place is really fun.
If you love animals, make the trip to this part of the park! Highly recommend!

You can do an easy drive through and catch back up with the interstate, take a day to explore, or spend weeks in the park! Something for everyone and beautiful scenery and wildlife (we love the prairie dogs)!
Saddle Pass Trail
#7 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
Very picturesque! the entire park is a must see! take plenty of water, a hat and sunscreen especially if you visiting mid day! just a wonderful spot!
Although Saddle Pass Trail is short, about 0.5 mile round trip, it is the most strenuous hike at Badlands National Park due to its steepness, rapidly changes in elevation, loose footings, slippery ground, and heat.
Castle Trail
#8 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
As always the National Park Service has passionate naturalists, who are there to guide and make great suggestions.
This is the best trail in the park!! Hiking the Castle Trail gives you access to the quiet rhythm of the park.
Panorama Point Overlook
#9 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
Each of the different overlooks in the Badlands National Park are worth a stop.
This is a must-see stop-off in the loop road round the park.
Fossil Exhibit Trail
#10 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
We also timed it to attend the 15 minute fossil talks that discusses the types of fossils found in the park and a few near specimens discovered by park visitors.
National Parks did a stellar job with this short, easy walk.
Cliff Shelf Nature Trail
#11 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
it is a nice walk through a juniper forest, one of the only areas in the park with trees.
Cliff Shelf Nature Trail
Minuteman Missile National Historic Site Philip 37.3 km away
#1 of 1 Nature & Parks in Philip
Only six people are allowed on the tour (with one extremely knowledgeable Park Ranger who will answer any question you can imagine), so it feels as intimate as the setting itself.
Parking is easy, easy access from the interstate, and well done by U.S. Park Service.

White River Valley Overlook
#12 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
The White River overlook is located in the North Unit, the area best known in the park or 64,000 acres, on the Loop Road.
Of all the overlooks in the park, I think this was one of my favorites for the regal majesty of the place.
Burns Basin Overlook
#13 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
All the viewpoints provided by the national park are unique and gives the complete range of formations that you can see.
The park is amazing.
Homestead Overlook
#14 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
The Homestead Overlook shows what the beauty of nature in the Badlands can be.
After visiting the Prairie Homestead, this is the first stop inside the Badlands National Park.
Bigfoot Pass Overlook
#15 of 17 Nature & Parks in Badlands National Park
The eastern part of the park is crowded, and rightly so, because people want to stop at each trail-head or turnout as they head west.
