- Lacy KLumberton, MS6 contributionsBavaro beach flea market was ok. The pricing was much higher than the local flea markets and they weren’t willing to negotiate as much. They do have white Hennessy but wanted $120US (only place I’ve seen it since we’ve been here) The beach was nice. We took a tour with a local tour guide on the beach for $100US to swim with sting rays, sharks, observe the dolphins, and swim in the natural pool, they promised a snorkeling spot which we never went to.They did let my husband drive the small speed boat to the dolphin holding place just off the beach. They did have options for party boats, parasailing, and an expensive restaurant (NOVA Beach Club) that wasn’t good in my option.Written 27 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JORGE HERNAN ORTIZ1 contributionThe hotel is truly amazing. But the most outstanding part of our experience at the resort was their customer service. All the personal from the receptionist to the housekeepers were always smiling and happy to assist us.
An special recognition to our butler Mr. Arismendy. He is a real gentleman. Elegant and super warm in his service.
Sincerely,
Jorge OrtizWritten 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ashleigh K1 contributionAmazing experience of a lifetime. - cazcuidiaz8 contributionsThis is about the fifth time I visit Juanillo Beach and the Beach Club. I have to say that I had been sorely disappointed about 4 months ago due to the poor quality of the food. Food was taking very long to be served and they were not using food covers, so the food would get to the guests cold. I am glad to say they have made a big improvement in that respect.
They have also increased the amount of servers available, so it makes it easier to order food and drinks instead of having to chase after them. They still have to work a little on customer service skills of some service staff. I particularly have to say I had a very nice encounter with a server names Castro. He went above and beyond my expectations and delivered stellar service. It was a very refreshing experience that stood out among the lackluster service of others.
They have also kept on improving the lounges and beach beds, which makes for a very pleasant time just as it was many years ago.Written 14 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Lacy KLumberton, MS6 contributionsThis is a must see place if you rent a car or would like to see amazing lagoons. Tickets to get on to the property is $50US/pp. This includes access to the lagoons and Blanca beach. There are several Lagoons that are crystal clear and you have the ability to swim in. We seen turtles, hermit crabs, and different types of lizards along our hike around the area. We enjoyed the coral lined pathways, no getting lost. The walk doesn’t take long to get around the whole circle and is an easy walk. About 2-3 hour event (taking short breaks to swim).Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Anick B3 contributionsThe waves are strong but once you pass the place where they break out you can just lie on top of the waves and let yourself go for hours.Written 7 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- norwelHumacao, Puerto Rico19 contributionsExcellent place, beautiful beach with a nice restaurant where you can rent a tent as well. Only Spanish speeking personnel. The road to the beach is a challenge. It's reached best with an off road vehicle. However we've made it with a small rental carWritten 24 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DJtrinivibesBronx, NY1,427 contributionswe visited this beautiful cave from taking a buggie tour and it was well worth it. the picturesque cave is so beautiful. It had long lines with locals and visitors trying to get in the cave pool. I couldn't get to dive in cause my son did not want to dive so I couldn't leave him. but taking pictures and just being there was all worth it for us. Thank me later when you see this beautiful cave. enjoyWritten 21 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LidiaMaple, Canada23 contributionsWe had a terrible experience with Los Corales tours with "Happy Joe" as he called himself. We booked a tour to Saona Island. We were promised breakfast, lunch and open bar with unlimited beer. We had to transfer buses and alot of wasted time waiting for another bus. Happy Joe lied about breakfast since we did not get one and where we stopped it had no breakfast to even buy. There was no unlimited beer with only rum offered in small cups with no ice. We asked if there was shade on the catamaran. No seats and we had to sit on the side with the hot sun! They mentioned lobster and it ended up with very dry chicken and porkchops and to top it off can spaghetti. So many other tours so we had no seats on the beach and disgusting dirty bathrooms. We were overcharged by triple the real price and asked for a discount. Happy Joe made all sorts of excuses and ended giving us alittle of a discount but aggressively demanded a big tip and asked how much we were giving. It was the worst excursion we have been on with all the lies!!Written 14 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- John PClinton, WA146 contributionsStaying at Ancora Cap Cana on the water of the Marina. Beautiful facilities. Be sure to walk out to the entry into the marina for a great drink at the beach bar on the north side of the entry.
Actually saw manatees swimming in the entrance.Written 24 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Rafael1 contributionGreat service, clean areas.
The beach is great but needs some cleaning at the kids' area of the beach.
It is 20 dollars for minimum consumption per adult and 10 for kids. You will use every bit of it. Free after 5 pm. Just keep in mind that it is a tourist place.
The drinks, the first one was water down but the staff changed it for us.
Beer is your best choice and drinks Presidente, it is a local pilsner beer and it is 5 dollars. Keep in mind that you can get it at a local store for a dollar or less (can beer)
As much as people complain about the price and food, keep in mind that it is a beach restaurant, it is not the four seasons.
For the 20 dollars, it was a relaxing afternoon and I expend 150 dollars for snacks, lunch, and drinks for two adults and a child. (several drinks for all, including water, beers, mojitos, and Pina Coladas.
From 9 am to 530 pm, not bad for 20 dollars.
Outside of that, I could not make it an everydayWritten 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - shamwoAshford, UK239 contributionsWe had a short time here whilst on a snorkelling trip. The beach is beautiful white sand. The sealine however was rather murky due to the amount of seaweed which made it look dirty. Not sure if it was actually dirty however but was unappealing to swim in.Written 29 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Malwina152 contributionsBeen there in December 2020. It was raining in the morning so there was water everywhere, water shoes recommended. A lot of wasps so be careful. We saw the lake. Kayaks weren't available. My husband didn't like it, it seemed dangerous for him (because of insects). I think I could take lot of interesting pictures of wild life there but we decided not to go to far and we came back to our hotel which was in front of Laguna (Dreams Palm Beach).Written 6 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alexander N4 contributionsWe wanted to see something pristine and natural. This is not it. It's on private property, with a barb wire fence around it and a local person charging 300 pesos for admission. Probably a dozen or so people in the hoyo, which is not that clear anymore and looks like it is treated more like a local public pool. Lots of trash on the ground, people barbecuing and partying.Written 21 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
