- Amanda39 contributionsThe beach/ ocean was beautiful. There was some seagrass but nothing that would make it not swimmable. You mainly just had to step over some to get to the ocean.
We stayed at Riu Republica mostly everyday were yellow flags, the undertow was strong but still able to swim. I was surprised to not see many lifeguards at all. I saw one place that was so far down. Other resorts I have stayed at, the resort had their own lifeguards.
There are vendors walking up and down the beach selling everything. There are also police that patrol the beach. There are two men that walk up and down one with a huge bird and one with a monkey. They try and change you outrageous prices to take your pic with the animals. Always negotiate with them bc for $25 per animal is ridiculous 🤣. I know they're trying to make money, but one thing that bothered me was I never saw any water for them. And as everyone knows in the Dominican Republic it's hot 🥵 as hell. 😂 So hopefully they get water somewhere for them. The beach is what you make of it. Relax and don't sweat the seagrass. There are more important things to worry about in life.Written 3 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Laurie B1 contributionI had amazing time at this resort while staying here. The food was great, the rooms were clean, and the pool/beach was to die for. The service was also amazing people like Twentynine, Johnny Bravo, and Micheal Jordan where the cherry on top to a beautiful experience. Will definitely come back.Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Wanderer7832934 contributionsOkay so there was a lot of waiting around from start to finish. It made no sense that 3 different groups of people were from the same resort but all were on different busses? We got picked up at 9:10 am, next group was 9:20 am, the next was picked up at 9:30 am… so a lot of waiting and standing around for all the groups. The dolphin part was amazing!! We did the middle package and we’re not disappointed. I don’t wish more of the people that worked there would’ve spoke English, but not a huge deal. After the dolphins the showers felt amazing!! We went to the bar, wanted nachos, they said no only Doritos. We wanted Pepsi, they said no only sprite. The sea lion show for me was sad. The pool was so small, and the seats for us had zero shade. It was 97 degrees Fahrenheit!! We were more than ready to get on the air conditioned bus!! In my opinion, you should have the option to stay for the show or leave after the dolphin experience. The parakeet experience was super cool, if you like birds.all in all, I’d rate it a 4/5.Written 14 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lee KPrairie Village, KS914 contributionsGreat walk through the trees following a coral lined winding path. The dock allowed an easy access to clear water that was very refreshing.
Our guide furnished flotation devices for non swimmers.Written 16 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Abigail N1 contributionArgenis at the casino bar is the most amazing bartender. He made our trip! We were here for a wedding and made sure we had the most amazing time.Written 3 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Anick B3 contributionsThe waves are strong but once you pass the place where they break out you can just lie on top of the waves and let yourself go for hours.Written 7 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- norwelHumacao, Puerto Rico19 contributionsExcellent place, beautiful beach with a nice restaurant where you can rent a tent as well. Only Spanish speeking personnel. The road to the beach is a challenge. It's reached best with an off road vehicle. However we've made it with a small rental carWritten 24 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

She was very sweet and patient with my daughter who, by the way, fell in love with her.Written 26 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mariacata23West New York, NJ12 contributionsWhile the experience was pricey it was very cool. Loved being able to see the dolphins first hand. While the pictures were expensive they are worth getting given this is a once in a lifetime experience. My only request is that this facility only offer the explorer option where you just touch and meet the dolphins vs the swimming options which is more having dolphins pull you on their fins around or push you on a boogie board. I feel it was wearing out the skin on their beaks/mouths. Also I am suspicious as we supposedly had GOYA the dolphin who was a boy. The instructor had called him by a different name at first. Then later on I come to find out that Goya is supposed to be a girl. So they are just using any old dolphins and assigning them the names of their main “characters”. Wonder what happened to the real Goya who is a female not the male we swam with.
Ultimately the explorer package is the most humane. Hope these dolphins are happy and well cared for. They seemed ok other than the scraping off of the beaks.Written 4 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ashlie GUnited Kingdom24 contributionsOverall we had a good experience. We booked the excellence tour and had two dolphins, the trainer was very patient with me as I am nervous of swimming. However, the photos and video are $150. We did buy them and got 52 photos and as we had the excellence tour, only we were on the video. The only thing that overshadowed it for me was that they let someone into our area do a superman during our time because he asked them in Spanish. Even though he hadn’t paid the higher price.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Rafael1 contributionGreat service, clean areas.
The beach is great but needs some cleaning at the kids' area of the beach.
It is 20 dollars for minimum consumption per adult and 10 for kids. You will use every bit of it. Free after 5 pm. Just keep in mind that it is a tourist place.
The drinks, the first one was water down but the staff changed it for us.
Beer is your best choice and drinks Presidente, it is a local pilsner beer and it is 5 dollars. Keep in mind that you can get it at a local store for a dollar or less (can beer)
As much as people complain about the price and food, keep in mind that it is a beach restaurant, it is not the four seasons.
For the 20 dollars, it was a relaxing afternoon and I expend 150 dollars for snacks, lunch, and drinks for two adults and a child. (several drinks for all, including water, beers, mojitos, and Pina Coladas.
From 9 am to 530 pm, not bad for 20 dollars.
Outside of that, I could not make it an everydayWritten 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
