- jpg33Manitoulin Island, Canada23 contributionsBy far one of the best cruise excursions we have ever had! This Island approx 20 mins from Nassau has everything you would need to have an exciting day! The ferry ride was pleasant and seeing the Celebrity homes was great. As soon as you enter the lagoon, we felt totally relaxed. We originally paid for the shark excursion but because there were high tides we had to change to the sting ray excursion. What an amazing time!!! The area was a private lagoon that had sting rays on one side and had the sharks on the other. So at least we could still see the sharks up close. Then as soon as our amazing guide ( i forgot her name but she was fantastic) got us in the water, the rays were there and very gentle. We spent approximately. 40 mins with the rays from handling them, taking pictures, snorkelling with them and exploring. There were even smaller fish and barracuda and one elusive small shark in there.
Other highlights of the island, are the clean beach areas, you can also walk over to the dolphin areas and view them up close and sea lions.
The excursion also includes a lunch which was fantastic. They had options for gluten free items which helped as well.
All in all, this was a 5 star day! Thank you Blue Lagoon.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maximilian B1 contributionWe booked a tour directly on the webpage for the National Park. The driver Edmond picked us up directly at our Airbnb. He already gave us very nice information about the island on the way to the park. Then we had a snorkeling tour with Jason. He showed us the big statue and other nice places with many fishes. At the end we had a tour with Vernita. She explained us the history of the island. All three people were great. We really had a nice time in the Cliffton Heritage National Park.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dansker58San Francisco, CA438 contributionsA fun thing to do while in Nassau. Not crowded at all. Price was a bit high for what you get. The flamingo show was fun and cool to get up close with the flamingos. Lots of exotic birds to see.Written 1 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- xtina989Seattle, WA14 contributionsWe went during lunch time on a Wednesday and very few places were open. May be more lively on weekends or when a cruise ship is docked. Not much to do beyond this 2 -3 block stretch of restaurants and a few souvenir stalls. But there are places to park, a public restroom building centrally located across the street (none in restaurants), and driveable to downtown and beaches.
The restaurant we went to gave large portions! Know that you may be able to share a dish between 2 people for most dishes priced over $20 per plate.Written 14 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's no shade, but you can rent an umbrella and beach chair for around $35. The steps down to the beach are steep, so be careful and take your time going up and down.
Bring cash; some of the vendors at the market do not accept cards. There's a cool bar and local store at the entrance. We walked down to the beach, took some pictures in the water, then walked back up to the entrance and had a few drinks in the shade at the bar. It was a highlight of our cruise.Written 14 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Harold V1 contributionThe sea lion encounter was the highlight of our trip! They were so cute. The pictures were very expensive but worth it for a once in a lifetime experience. The photographer was good and she captured all the shots both when we posed and when we were in the water with them (waist deep). Lunch and the beach for the rest of the time until the boat ride back. Would definitely recommend!!Written 25 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Matt W3 contributionsBeautiful beach, turquoise water and a great view, more secluded than most beaches closer to Nassau. Takes about half an hour to get there from the Cruise Port. There's a guy on the beach making rum punch but NOTHING else, no bathroom facilities, no food close by, so you need to go prepared.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brendan SArlington, VA1,688 contributionsBahamas National Parks are unlike America’s. At a mere 6 acres, with just a one mile hiking path, Primeval Forest is much smaller than many of America’s NPs. It is also much more obscure and unvisited. The hotel concierge had never heard of it and I saw no other visitors here on a Sunday. And that is what I loved about it. I walked through an undisturbed forest. I could hear the bird calls. It was an authentic nature experience while staying on a trail. While the forest itself is worth traversing, the biggest selling point of Primeval Forest is the Karsts: the limestone sinkholes that dot the forest, including several you can walk - and crawl - into to observe. One of them has marine fossils. This was my favorite activity in Nassau, but if too many people discover it, it will be ruined.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - melanie f80 contributionsMade reservations when booking our stay at Atlantis. This was an informative adventure as we learned a lot about the stingrays. We wore life vests and water shoes provided by Atlantis. We were the first feeding of the day. The stingrays rub and swarm around you which is a cool, but slightly strange feeling as you can feel them against your legs. Once they have ate, they calmed down and we were about to snorkel. The experience gave us lots to talk about with our children ages 11 & 9 throughout the trip and often found ourselves coming back to visit the stingrays.Written 26 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary3,261 contributionsParadise Beach looks nice but it is just an entry level. - Daydream31039952415Georgetown, KY9 contributionsSimple stop, quick in and out. Tours will stop and you might have to compete for the ability to get in. There are some little cute bats living in the cave. Watch your step and BRING HAND SANITIZER! Because there are bats, there is poop.Written 12 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
