- Aaron TSt. Maarten, N.A.14 contributionsZoe and the crew were so easy to deal with from making the reservations to exactly on time delivery of the boat. The boat was just as described, excellently maintained and had plenty of extras on board. Can't wait till next time.Written 12 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Turns out, its very windy in The Bahamas in August, so we went with their advice on the best day to go out (they were right!). We learned about mangroves and their importance to the environment and as a fish and turtle nursery, saw giant starfish, sharks, rays, and honestly too many turtles to keep count. We had a great lunch on a beautiful secluded cay, then did some reef fishing - they fish were practically jumping in the boat. We had more than enough for 2 meals! Teresa and Charles even navigated my seasickness with empathy (bring dramamine lol). They even dropped off a beautiful, cleaned conch that we found in the flats before we left which was a beautiful touch. Book with them - you won't be disappointed!Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ElinorEastlakenorth London65 contributionsLuke was recommended to us as the best boat/snorkeling/reef fishing guide on the island. We had a great day out along the east Atlantic coast, in beautiful snorkel and fishing spots among reef fish, turtles, rays, barracuda, and sharks, all tailored to our requirements. Would recommend highly -Written 28 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PamGeorgia2 contributionsFANTASTIC DAY. Marvin is amazing. Very knowledgeable and such a nice, friendly individual. Took us to see the pigs, sand bars, turtles, starfish, and rays. Amazing views from the ocean. Would highly recommend this trip with Marvin.Written 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Happiness7453401 contributionDuring my visit, I was granted the experience of going on a full day boat trip and that included snorkeling and spear fishing. It was a breathtaking experience. The crystal clear water combined with the clear sunny skies and a very hospitable captain made the day even better than it already was. The captain made sure that everything and everyone was fine so we didn’t have any problems. She took us to a great spot, did some snorkeling, got some dinner, and even saw a few sharks. The hospitality was great and I can’t wait to do it again so I’ll definitely be back.Written 23 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pete MStevensville, MD14 contributionsMy fiancé and I brought our families to Stella Maris, Long Island, Bahamas for our wedding this year. This is my fourth trip to Stella Maris (2013, 2015, 2017, 2023) and my second trip fishing the flats with Docky (2017 & 2023).
A few days after our wedding I took my new father-in-law out for one-on-one instruction from Docky. The wealth of knowledge Docky has on bone fishing and the flats of Long Island is amazing to a novice fly fisherman. He had patience with us as we worked on casting techniques and fundamentals. On the second cast, we were on the fish, and I was able to land a bonefish on a fly rod.
Not only is he an excellent guide but he is just an all-around great guy to spend time with. We dined at Docky's Flats Bar for 2 nights and on both nights the food was amazing. The stories he and Gerard shared kept us on the edge of our seats for the entire evening.
You will not be disappointed fishing, eating, or just having a drink with Docky and crew, and as a plus, he is a fellow aviator so just more things in common with his customers as Long Island is an easy flight in most all private aircraft from the states.
We just got home and are already looking forward to the next trip.Written 10 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were on the island for family business and lodging here accommodated all our needs. It was conveniently close to one of the best takeout restaurants on the island (Max's Conch Bar) and the main highway for access to everything else. We had a beautifully scenic waterfront view and fishing opportunity within walking distance. We will absolutely look to stay here again!Written 3 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Levant M7 contributionsTruly an amazing experience! Captain Marvin and first mate Brandon are skilled and provide a depth of knowledge along the way of the trip. Lots of fun sites and historical context. I can't think of any way the trip could have been better. Looking forward to taking another boat trip with Big V adventures on my next visit to Long Island.Written 12 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ThomasMadoeBrussels, Belgium14 contributionsWe went on a day diving trip to Conception Island. Although the coral and fish/sharks are beautiful, it was one of the least pleasant diving trips I did so far, for different reasons:
1. Safety: The main strap connector of my BCD was broken, the tank valve of one of the people broke off during the dive, crew was smoking weed etc. Even though all divers were from Europe and are used to 'Bar' instead of 'PSI' and 'Meters' instead of 'Feet', conversion was not explained properly. Limitations of dive licenses were not taken into account and severely violated.
2. Dive master: not knowledgeable about the diving location and sea life / corals. No clear instructions as to how deep we would go, when and where we would make safety stops etc.
3. Duration of dives: only 2 dives of 20 minutes, while tanks had capacity to stay under for at least 40 minutes each dive.
4. The non-divers were told there was great snorkeling, however on the 8 hour trip only during lunch there was an opportunity to actually snorkel and see something. Znorkelers were not happy at all.
5: Customer service & price: very expensive trip ($175pp, includes tanks and equipment). Only water was included, no food, snacks or anything. If you go, bring your own lunch. The 3 crew members had a great 'boys days out' amongst themselves (joking around and smoking weed), but payed very little attention to their guests.
I would personally not go back.Written 8 August 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
