We went on a day diving trip to Conception Island. Although the coral and fish/sharks are beautiful, it was one of the least pleasant diving trips I did so far, for different reasons:
1. Safety: The main strap connector of my BCD was broken, the tank valve of one of the people broke off during the dive, crew was smoking weed etc. Even though all divers were from Europe and are used to 'Bar' instead of 'PSI' and 'Meters' instead of 'Feet', conversion was not explained properly. Limitations of dive licenses were not taken into account and severely violated.
2. Dive master: not knowledgeable about the diving location and sea life / corals. No clear instructions as to how deep we would go, when and where we would make safety stops etc.
3. Duration of dives: only 2 dives of 20 minutes, while tanks had capacity to stay under for at least 40 minutes each dive.
4. The non-divers were told there was great snorkeling, however on the 8 hour trip only during lunch there was an opportunity to actually snorkel and see something. Znorkelers were not happy at all.
5: Customer service & price: very expensive trip ($175pp, includes tanks and equipment). Only water was included, no food, snacks or anything. If you go, bring your own lunch. The 3 crew members had a great 'boys days out' amongst themselves (joking around and smoking weed), but payed very little attention to their guests.
I would personally not go back.
