- winelover206Seattle, WA7 contributionsI am amazed this is #17 on things to do in Vancouver because this beach/area is beyond fabulous! This is one of the top things we like to do when visiting Vancouver. Going during nice weather is best would go anytime of year. Parking is a complete nightmare, however, so take public transit if at all possible or an Uber. Great restaurants in the area. Go for a nice, scenic walk then enjoy a nice meal overlooking the water. You won't regret it.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ayalasibandaGreater London, UK414 contributionsWe cycled here, and it was lovely! It was great fun, really peaceful too. Soft sand. Soothing waves. Lots of logs to sit on tooWritten 31 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- platypus150Melbourne, Australia27,761 contributionsIt is so well located that it is hard to believe that you are only a couple of hundred metres from major roads and skyscrapers. It is a pleasant walk along the sand or a well made path. There are life guards on duty and it is a great place to view the sunset.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SpiderdogCheshire, UK7,619 contributionsThis display of statues was only a short walk from where we were staying so we passed it several times.
You can't really explain it but it is a series of men in various laughing poses!
Everyone who see's it starts laughing so it's a really happy place to be!
The other thing ( that also makes you laugh) is that all the tourists who are in the small park area feel compelled to pose in exactly the same positions as the staues and have their photo's taken!
A unique and happy place to be.Written 21 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately we couldn't go in, due to some filming in the area.Go to Nelson Park area too.Written 27 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PookyCakeVictoria, Canada13,887 contributionsNelson Park is a small urban oasis in Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood. It features well-groomed pathways, benches for people-watching, kid’s playground, community garden and, on the park’s west side, a dog off-leash area. These parks are a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, but I’ll agree with an earlier review by Chris D: There’s “Not much here for the tourist;” however, those keen on a bit of history might find Nelson Park of interest. You see, the park is noteworthy because it functioned as a starting point for Vancouver’s early Pride Parades, which officially began in 1978. I believe the modern Pride Parade still passes through – or skirts along – this park. Anyway, Nelson Park is a nice place for a brief stop while exploring the West End, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit it.Written 24 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shirin gToronto, Canada81 contributionsIt was an fun bicycle day around the park, its lite hard to find a road if its your first time and they have some construction work which make it complicated to find a right way. But overall it was an amazing park.Written 22 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
