What travellers are saying
- gillianes2017Amersham, UK6 contributionsI organised 25 members of our walking group to join a guided tour of the Bunker. Our excellent guide, Dilip Amin really brought the history of the Battle of Britain to life. We spent the best part of an hour in the plotting room with its large map table and squadron display boards, left exactly as it was when Winston Churchill visited on 15 September 1940. Dilip described how the room was used and really held the attention of the group. After the tour we spent half an hour in the visitor centre and would have spent longer if it hadn't been closing time.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mansura M2 contributionsAs the weather was nice, I didn't take a bus from Uxbridge town to Ruislip High Street. This was the first time I used this route. I really enjoyed and would love to do this again, even a bit longer on the Celandine route.Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cdhulbertBerkhamsted, UK7 contributionsvery peaceful, reflective cemetery with many ANZAC war graves. Best to visit just after ANZAC day as local children put posts of flowers on all war graves on that day. Do go inside and see the memorial within. Went with Aussie relations who loved it.

The stained glass windows are excellent and the thirteen plaques of the stations of the cross are really worth seeing, especially made by Sisters of the church and given anonymously following the ending of the 1939-45 war. Set in a pleasant garden with seating and close to the town centre. We enjoyed a peaceful stroll in the garden after an interesting visit in the church. Recommend.Written 4 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lee OBrisbane, Australia593 contributionsA huge expanse of grass, a few huge fallen branches, a lot of high weeds in one corner, and a small play area, my wife played here in the 1940s when it appeared much much bigger and more crowdedWritten 27 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GellyUnited Kingdom3 contributionsThis is clearly somewhere you go to lie around in the sun.
My mistake!
Paid £10 for lane swimming in the outdoor pool.
About a 1/3 of the pool was not in use at all, and only a small strip at one side was actually swimming lanes which meant it felt really crowded.
There only seemed to be 2 ladies toilets and minimal cafe.
On the plus side the lockers worked and everything appeared clean aside from lots of cobwebs and spiders. The pool was well staffed and everyone working there looked alert, friendly and like they knew what they were doing.
Sadly they decided to play heart FM over the tannoy which meant an ear full of One Direction and Boris yelling on the news, totally ruining any hope of a relaxing swim.Written 13 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having often gone by this place, I determined one day last year 2 go and see it. It describes in graphic detail the execution of the 3 men. It is situated at the lower end of Windsor Steet - prob. the old road 2 Windsor via Yiewsley. It's best 2 walk there via the High Street as the bus will drop u a little way from this spot. Have marked down 1 hr as being enough time 2 see this, but u could easily do this in half the time - OR EVEN LESS!Written 4 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
