Interesting look at lighthouse history and lifestyle. Museums are filled with Great Lakes seafare, shipwrecks, fishing and local copper mining. Would definitely recommend.

We were driving in the area (from Copper Harbor to Houghton by way of Brockway Mountain) and took a few minutes to stop, stretch our legs, and explore a little around this cute lighthouse. It was closed when we arrived (fairly near to sunset) but we were able to walk around outside and admire the structure as well as the nearby views of the lake. It wasn't a long stop, about 10 or 15 minutes in total, but enough to admire the views, take a few photos, and enjoy a short stroll.

If the water levels are low, expect to hike a bit down the path to see a good waterfall. It is across the street and under the bridge off the road. If the water levels are low, I can't say it's the best stop. I think it would have been beautiful if it had rained recently and we got to see what so many of these pictures show. But it was not.

I'm still happy to have stopped and explored further down.

This is a must stop for anyone that is in the area that wants to indulge their sweet tooth. A bakery run and staffed by byzantine monks, everything is amazing. Pick up some extra cookies, pancake mix, and more. Around the corner is the abby as well. There is parking on site and usually a line. Try and get here early as its first come first serve.

Get a nice perspective of what it was like around the turn of the 20th century in Keweenaw. Doesn't take long to see, especially if making the drive on M-26 to, or from, Copper Harbor.

A great museum displaying artifacts from the many years it was a general store along with contemporary artwork from local and national artists. A great mix and match something for everybody installation. You can spend an hour exploring.

Drop an e-mail or call before you visit. It is open in the summer and early fall.

The museum is small, but it's really intersting. I has a number of displays with equipment and stories of ship crews rescued off the Keweenaw. And the price is right: it's free.

Breathtaking view while nestled into a sauna with the best views of the roaring Lake Superior. A deck to cool off on and or be brave like us and go swimming! Water, tea, electrolytes, robes, booties & plush towels!
