Three of us travelled from Liverpool to visit this brilliant mansion. It was fantastic, so much to see. Soak in the treasures inside the mansion. The staff are really friendly. This is a shout-out to a lovely room guide (I think her name was Sandy, and she had connections to Rock Ferry). She was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.
Go outside and enjoy the walks. We did the WW2 walk. We saw the deer and the herd of cows. Beautiful surroundings. The walled gardens are well maintained and are flowering nicely.
Usual facilities, cafe, gift shop etc They also have a never ending second hand bookshop.
All in all, it was a fabulous day and the weather was perfect.

If you are in the area it is well worth calving out time to enjoy this unusual attraction. You need to be reasonable assured on foot and fairly fit to enjoy the slightly more challenging parts of the walk. My wife and (both late 70's) spent 3 hours exploring the sights. I won't spoil your enjoyment by describing the various interesting features. However, I will say it is an excellent day out for families with energetic children.

Amazing experience for children and adults. We brought our 6 year old nephew here for the junior falconry experience. Lisa was an excellent host and really goes above and beyond to make a personal experience. We all loved it. Our nephew was able to hold three birds of prey and we learnt so much.
I would recommend to all, it’s a wonderful place.

    I love this place!
I've visited a few times; the museum is so friendly and welcoming. Its a really nice space to wander through on your own, as I do quite frequently. But it's often full of the sounds of school groups who are enjoying learning about local history. They always seem to be having a great time.

The museum usually has a special exhibition on

Brilliant afternoon spent on the Owl Experience. 90 minutes of learning about owls and handling them. Our granddaughter was delighted and hasn’t stopped talking about it. We booked through Wowcher for her and my husband and I managed to get a spectator ticket for £10. Really good value. Lisa and Steve are so passionate about the birds and their care, highly recommended.

    Fabulous day walking!
Parked at the reserve carpark and did a 7.6km circular found on ‘AllTrails’… took in varying terrain and views! Beautiful little spot by the devils chair to have our picnic.
Easy routes to follow and plenty of ways to shorten and lengthen the day!
    Very dog friendly!!

loved this church. from the bottom of the hill by the river in the park, it looks incredible. what a view from down there, walked up to it and entered. don't know why but we both thought it had an american feel to it for some reason. bit gutted we missed the ebenezer scrooge headstone but it's still a great looking church more so from a distance.

Great theatre. Beautiful location. It's like being on holiday!
Friendly, helpful staff. We travel over an hour to see productions here, rather than where we live as it's actually considerably cheaper.
    Just a lovely place.
Just needs more toilets. Maybe some on the ground floor.
