- Steven CRoyal Tunbridge Wells, UK40 contributionsIf in the Brecon area, this is a must for anyone with a military interest. The Zulu Room was of particular interest for me and I spent ages looking around the displays. The Curator had very kindly agreed to show me an item of particular interest from the archives which I had requested in advance. She and the other staff were friendly and very helpful. As well as the Zulu Room, there are other areas showing the history of the Royal Regiment of Wales, together with an armoury room and a medals room.Written 1 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavidIlford, UK15 contributionsGreat trek with Louise, our walking partners were Reg and Elvis. Only 7 of us went so nice small group, but good fun and weather was a bonus.Written 2 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janet HWorcester, UK539 contributionsGloriously peaceful place of worship. So much to see and absorb. From the beautiful stained glass windows, the altar carvings and the font, all full of history. Superb Chapel dedicated by MU ladies with a lovely MU banner on display. Pay and display car park adjacent.Written 18 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Janet HWorcester, UK539 contributionsNice little basin outside theatre and a great place to start a walk. You pass so many beautifully maintained properties on a well maintained pathway. Ideal walking place with one's dog. Car parking (pay and display) close by. Not far from town centre.Written 21 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tony FlynnKidderminster, UK6 contributionsVisited for first time to see Brecon Baroque, a music ensemble formed and directed by the excellent Rachel Podger. The ensemble if formed from local professional musicians as well as students from universities and music colleges. Concert was very fine. Also liked very much the relaxed and comfortable ambience of the theatre. There is a cafe open here during the day and a bar when there are performances on.Written 30 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jacquie CSwansea County, UK119 contributionsWe had visitors (again) and though we thought we'd done Brecon & locale 'to death', by visiting the Brecon Tourist Info Centre we realised we hadn't!! Lots to do, places to go, best route to get there, brochures and so on.
The staff were friendly, jovial even. They appreciated greatly when I said Diolch (thank you in Welsh) and told me I could come by for Welsh lessons anytime! "Diolch yn fawr"!!Written 6 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Can be added to a circular tour while in the Brecons. If you are into stones add it into visit list worth a stop and walk across to it as larger than it looksWritten 20 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MasBelleFrance104 contributionsWalking next to the reservoir is a nice easy flat walk for those who don’t like or can’t manage the hillier walks in the area. It’s a beautiful area and Talybont-on-Usk has all you need for a lovely day out, the beautiful canal walks, a great village store and café, bike hire, two pubs and on the bus route.Written 13 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcquerelliBrecon, UK76 contributionsThis is a great place to find good art, not just from locals, but from artists from further afiled.
The staff are very helpful and willing to talk and advise on the art they have for sale.
there is also a very good framing service available, because if the size of the place they can exhibit larger panitings and art, which other galleries cant do.
there is also a very cozy coffee shop with nice cakeWritten 25 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not to be tried in very wet conditions as could be slippery but on a dry sunny day a super walk.Written 23 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nanuq03Dublin, Ireland9 contributionsWe arrived here to the adjacent campground by chance and I was blown away by the garden. Incredible array of plants growing and the owner was so knowledgeable and so generous with her time in walking us through the beds and explaining the processes involved in organic no-dig planting. Left feeling totally inspired and think of it often as I attempt to make some tiny impact on my own measly vegetable plot. Will be back for a course if I can. Beautiful shop and cafe stocked with local products and the campground was a wonderfully quiet spot overlooking the lake. Have been telling all my friends and family about it. Will be back!Written 1 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Clivel_98Hereford, UK1,489 contributionsThe centre is closing down as of April 21st. This means that there are some excellent deals on offer at the moment. Managed to get various pieces of silverware at considerable discount. Will be sad to see the place go.Written 5 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Brian WMerthyr Tydfil, UK108 contributionsMy Wife and I took my Grandson to the Park area at Brecon Boathouse. The first thing to mention is the childrens play-ground; there is a sign saying that no dogs are allowed in the play area, although we counted four dogs within the restricted area; also the grass needed cutting as it was about 6" long. The Boat house is a caffe with gaming machines and rather scruffy inside; although it is a good place for an ice cream, or to hire a boat for an hour on the river.Written 3 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tony FlynnKidderminster, UK6 contributionsSurprisingly interesting visit to new arts hub, replacing the Brecon museum and art gallery. Wide variety of exhibits on display. Helpful staff in all areas. There is a full size courtroom and a schoolroom.
Best of all was a first class art exhibition, inclusing photographs, paintings and sculptures from other parts of Wales, selected by ordinary people when it was displayed on Instagram. This included moving tributes to coal mining and the Aberfan disaster. If all future exhibitions match up to this, it will definitely be worth a return visit.Written 30 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
