Not only did he offer technical aspects of the course but he shared fun and interesting historical trivia about the legendary course. Four of us are not golfers but still enjoyed the tour very much. John did a great job! - Tall-ant4 contributionsThis was an informal tour with a local photographer. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about St Andrews, it’s history and culture. He is a former caddie and hospitality worker with the courses of St Andrews. It was casual and as we Americans say, “laid back”. We were able to ask for photos to be taken with various historical and prominent structures/places as our background. He walked the entire Old Course with us but will go where you would like.
Thank you Matt for the pleasure of meeting you and for your time! It was lovely to have lunch at the Tom Morris Bar and Grill. Stuart was full of knowledge about the club and town. We visited the St. Andrew’s Cathedral and walked through the town. On the drive back to Edinburgh we stopped in a fishing village which was charming and drove through a seaside resort town. Stuart was full of interesting facts and we really enjoyed our time with him. He also found many perfect spots for pictures. Also, Beryl was very helpful and responsive when setting up the tour in the days beforehand. - Michael F2 contributionsWe had a great trip to St Andrews using Experienced Tours. Our guide Gary showed up dressed in his Scottish kilt and we were off from Edinburgh. After a couple of stops in some fishing villages along the way, we made it to St Andrews. Gary made sure we did it all including shopping at the golf shop, pictures all over the course, and a group photo on the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the 18 hole. We even had reservations to eat lunch at the course. I highly recommend this tour, and be sure to ask for Gary. Several things to note - in order of appearance before you spend 500+ dollars -
First, if you want to see Balmoral Castle - ask your driver to take you there first not last. We arrived after 4pm and had pre-purchased tickets but could not tour the castle (only the grounds) and could not receive the audio as they stop giving them out at 4:00 on the dot.
This left us with less one hour to take in the outside of the castle, which was the number one reason we wanted to do this tour.
Second, David is a nice but quiet guy who is a driver. He is not a tour guide. He offered very little spontaneous information about the castles or Scotland. If we asked a question he provided a short polite answer. This did not feel like a tour but a very long Uber drive.
Third, the Glamis Castle tour was led by a knowledgeable docent but this stop takes more than one hour if a cruise ship group is in line ahead of you. Our driver was not aware of this timing and reported he had never been on the tour! But it is well worth the visit.
If this tour day can be re-tooled and some Castle or Scotland facts can be provided beyond a basic wiki page, with the order of the trip reversed, it would be lovely!
Note 10-5 is not accurate.
You need to leave earlier and the your day takes 9 hours (with no extra stops) not 7 hours.

He was flexible and planned a full experience in a bespoke arrangement that included Stirling Castle, Scone and Lindores Abbey Distillery (a highlight). It was wonderful day long tour where we saw parts of Scotland we would never have seen on one of the bit group tours. The second tour we gave Graham 3 places we would like to see and he peppered that tour with a few other interesting places. He his a great historian. He also is well versed in the beautiful fauna throughout beautiful Scotland. - Ronda S1 contributionWe had the best time with Kevin on our tour of Harry Potter sites in Edinburg and the St Andrews golf course in St Andrews. He suggested the aquarium for our grandkids which was right by the golf course. We finished with fish and chips from a local restaurant he recommended.
