However many times you go back, the beach is absolutely stunning. Miles of golden sand with the backdrop for the old course. Dog walkers paradise with room to lose yourself.

Lovely historical and beautiful architecture! It's such a shame about all the barriers and fences up but still a wonderful sight to see!

A brilliant place to visit. My family had the best fun together in many years - my grown up daughter especially loved the train, reverting to childhood in a happy instant! Extremely reasonable prices for the different activities and something for everyone to enjoy. My grandson loved it all, his favourite being the pedalo on the beautiful lake. Ken and Bruce, the train drivers, were absolutely great, doing their best to make it fantastic fun for everyone. The grounds are beautiful and the food on offer was delicious. We will make it a regular visit whenever we come to stay with family in St Andrew’s again.

My two friends and I loved this place. We found the walled garden to be delightful to stroll around, with lots Red Admiral butterflies at the time of our visit in September. Plants beautifully arranged. It looks well cared for and sensitively planted. Areas that are needing work are labelled to tell you what is going on - so helpful to know! The cafe served delicious food and service was gracious. A glorious day topped off off by a sea swim from the beach beyond. We look forward to coming again when next in Fife.

I am a retired University administrator in the U.S. and looked forward to visiting St. Andrews University which is situated in the older portion of town amongst private homes and buildings housing pubs and boutiques. St. Andrews is the oldest of the four ancient universities in Scotland. This 600-year old is one of the top 100 universities in world, ranked for philosophy and divinity and rated better than Oxford and Cambridge in 2021. Research, teaching quality, entry standards and student satisfaction enter into these rankings. The buildings oozed with the history of this institution.

The impressive castle ruins with the crashing sea as a back drop is a lovely sight on a fine day. Beautiful silhouette on the skyline.

We did the woodland walk from the Kingsbarns distillery. We spent an hour or so beach combing and watching the wildlife. It runs alongside the golf course and is part of the Fife coastal route walk.

My favourite place in Fife! St Andrews botanics have something for everyone: a beautiful, peaceful walk, varied plants to explore, an excellent cafe and some super events for families and children which my toddler absolutely loves. Love the plant shop too, especially the magnolias which have just gone on sale.

The garden is a lovely cottage garden. Peaceful to sit in with lots of plants and information. The cottage has lots of interesting displays and helpful knowledgeable volunteers. Shame the garden is to be reorganised in future. Free entry. No wheelchair access, but that's history.

We visited the aquarium with our two children (aged 5 and 8) during a family holiday to St Andrews. The staff at the aquarium were very knowledgeable and we all thoroughly enjoyed the talks given. The staff were happy to answer questions too, which was really great to see. There are loads of things to see, and lots
Of information about most of the species housed within the aquarium. The only and major downside for us was the price. Although you get a day ticket so you can go in and out at your leisure, it’s very expensive for what it is. Especially when you compare to other similar days out, granted, not local ones. £40-odd for a family ticket for something that takes around an hour and a half (and we stopped and took our time looking at every exhibit) is extortionate. It would feel better value if, like other attractions, the ticket is valid for a year from date of purchase. The gift shop was also very expensive with few ‘pocket money’ options -disappointing given that you have no option to avoid the gift shop! Although there is a burger place, the aquarium would benefit from a cafe where visitors can sit down and have a cuppa.

The welcome was friendly without being pushy and the man I spoke to was knowledgeable and helpful. I received a clear map and practical information about bus services.
In addition the shop looked well-stocked with nice gifts, books and postcards.

Great beach, even in the winter, dog walking, children's play park. In the spring/summer cafe at the harbour, can sit and watch the world go by, and further along near the children's play park a sandwich/toastie /ice cream shop. Plenty of choice and a great beach with stunning views. Take your own picnic and sit a little further up on the grass.

Although this museum has lots of interesting objects exploring the history of the University, the galleries exploring the research carried out there over the years mean there's something for everyone whatever your interests. There's some interactive displays and the viewing area provides great views with a free talking telescope explaining what you can see. Friendly staff and well stocked gift shop.
