- Redkitewatcher64Andover, UK2,219 contributionsVisited the bridge on a day trip to St Andrews. Not a huge golf fan but decided to walk along the course and visit this iconic bridge . This and the 18th fairway has featured in so many gold championships it was very special to get the chance to stand on the bridge with the back drop of the course behindWritten 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ck_NestKennesaw, GA741 contributionsThis is one of the must go places in Scotland if you are a history buff or Christian. The size is something else.
It’s sad to think of all the bad things that happened here.
This was the finish of a pilgrimage for me and a fitting place to end.Written 16 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Audio guide is well worth it. £10 entry for adults (national trust cards not accepted but English Heritage cards are). Toilets and gift shop on site but no cafe. Fascinating history of the castle during the reformation period.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandra TGlasgow, UK4 contributions1st time visitor to the gin experience, Olivia our host was very friendly & gave a detailed & interesting talk about gin. She adapted our drinks to suit our palate as I don’t like tonic, we were given a welcome drink, 3 gins to sample plus as a group we chose a cocktail to make, I would recommend them all. My husband is now converted to gin after this tour. I would Definitely recommend this gin experience tour as it’s interesting & good value for money.Written 7 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DeanMurphy2020Orlando, FL7,767 contributionsIn contemporary golf, ‘fore’ is used as a warning cry to alert other players that an incoming shot may hit them. This attraction was on a guided tour itinerary. A good thing, as I would have missed learning much about the birthplace of golf, Scotland. Even Mary, Queen of Scotland was an avid golfer and introduced the French word, cadet—pronounced ca-day, a young lad who toted the Queen’s golf equipment—which morphed into “caddy.” Good thing, perhaps. We may never have had the film, “Caddy Shack.” There’s a host of golf artifacts and memorabilia, even for those whose only knowledge of golf is the 19th hole☺Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catriona M2 contributionsA huge thank you to the team at Craigton Park for all their help with organising the after party of our son's christening. We hired the party tent which was an excellent size for our party of 30 (with plenty of space for the kids to play) nothing was too much trouble for Paul who was incredibly helpful and friendly. The cost to hire the tent was so reasonable and despite the bad weather it was cosy! We had a fantastic time and we could recommend hiring or going to Craigton park more! We really hope to be able to come back soon and for any other gatherings we wouldn't hesitate to hire the tent again!

We enjoyed a walk to the beach and around the walled gardens, price is very reasonable for guest, plus gift aid and monies go towards the related projects and community activities on site.
We had a lovely lunch, food was fresh and well presented. Lots of healthy options and the environment in the converted stable area is fantastic.
Thankyou so much, will be visiting again soon.Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Juliebelle64Edinburgh, UK26 contributionsFabulous clean beach, ideal for families and dog owners. However, the car park attendant needs to be replaced. He is patronising, entitled, rude and has no social skills. His impatience with drivers parking and leaving the carpark is off the scale. My advice, arrive early, park up and ignore the attendant.Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrippixieEdinburgh, UK108 contributionsA nice little museum. We had a friendly greeting by the staff upon arrival. My daughter was offered a free backpack to take around with her. She could choose to be an artist or an explorer. The backpack contained a challenge for each gallery and in the artist one some bits and bobs to help and use. It was a really nice idea to get kids more interested in the gallery and what they exhibit.
It was very well laid out and informative. The upstairs had a couple of kid friendly areas, some colouring in, books, and a craft area.
My daughter really enjoyed making a few craft things and the whole experience, as did we. We handed the backpack back to staff at the end, and my daughter was given a little sticker, which she was thrilled for.
I would recommend this little museum for a visit. It's a lovely experienceWritten 16 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
