I visited St Andrews in July and played the Old Course. It can be difficult to get a tee time for the Old Course as, other than purchasing an expensive Golf Package, all tee time are subject to The Ballot (or lottery drawing). There are ways to improve your odds of getting picked for a tee time, all of which can be found by visiting my web site at budgetgolftriptips.com. You will also find some great recommendations for hotels and restaurants in St Andrews.

I had a solo tour with Neil and he was fantastic!! I learned so much about Fife history and all the intricacies of the wee dram.
I thoroughly enjoyed my tour and I learned loads about the flavour profiles of whiskey which is why I went.

This is one of the must go places in Scotland if you are a history buff or Christian. The size is something else.

It’s sad to think of all the bad things that happened here.

This was the finish of a pilgrimage for me and a fitting place to end.

Very interesting history at St Andrews Castle. Audio guide is well worth it. £10 entry for adults (national trust cards not accepted but English Heritage cards are). Toilets and gift shop on site but no cafe. Fascinating history of the castle during the reformation period.

What a gorgeous beach! The beach is clean, lovely soft golden sand and it stretches for miles. A lovely beach to spend the day. I'll definitely go back.

We had a lovely afternoon at the distillery. Lunch in cafe was tasty and then our gin tour was interesting and fun. We had Gordon as our guide who was funny and informative . A lovely relaxed atmosphere and very tasty gin . Highly recommend .

A huge thank you to the team at Craigton Park for all their help with organising the after party of our son's christening. We hired the party tent which was an excellent size for our party of 30 (with plenty of space for the kids to play) nothing was too much trouble for Paul who was incredibly helpful and friendly. The cost to hire the tent was so reasonable and despite the bad weather it was cosy! We had a fantastic time and we could recommend hiring or going to Craigton park more! We really hope to be able to come back soon and for any other gatherings we wouldn't hesitate to hire the tent again!

    Thank you so much!

Wonderful experience. I'm a regular visitor to the sauna but attended my first sunrise and sauna. Amazing. So well looked after by Jamie, from beginning to end. She led us through the session and then had some lively snacks and teas for after. We will be back.

Fabulous clean beach, ideal for families and dog owners. However, the car park attendant needs to be replaced. He is patronising, entitled, rude and has no social skills. His impatience with drivers parking and leaving the carpark is off the scale. My advice, arrive early, park up and ignore the attendant.

Simply great fun regardless if you’ve ever played golf or not. Friendly staff and a great way to spend an hour or so of your time while in St Andrews.

We had a chance to see a show (Jersey Boy's tribute group) during our recent visit to Scotland. This is a review of the theatre and not the show.

This is a very nice venue in St Andrews. An excellent intimate theatre space with comfortable seating and great amenities. Good lighting and a nice stage area.

Also, an excellent bar area outside of the main stage area.

All in all, a very good experience.

And FYI, the show was very good too

Just a few steps from the centre of the town the East Sands beach offers a haven of sea air and nature, and the possibility of a swim or just to relax on a bench. A lovely spot to reflect or take the family.
