Facing the Garonne River to the east, the square is lined with elegant building facades and features a monument Fountain of Three Graces. Closer to the river there is also the landmark Water Mirror from which the square can be most beautifully viewed. Really enjoyed it. We had 3 hours and didn’t see everything. We learned heaps about wine and it was so interactive and fun. There were moments where it was almost overwhelming. I think if I went again I’d be a bit less completionist about finishing the exhibits as this meant I missed quite a few things. - BradHong Kong, China178,247 contributionsThis is the large reflection pool and shallow body of water situated along the Garonne River and quay just in front of Place de la Bourse. It was opened in 2006 and is considered the largest reflection pool attraction of its kind in the world.
This landmark place to visit in Bordeaux affords visitors with beautiful reflection views of Place de la Bourse which can be enjoyed day and night. It is also a spot for children to play and enjoy time playing in the shallow (2cm) pool.
We passed by a few times during our recent visit to Bordeaux. At times there were spray features occurring, at other times the pool was calm and still, offering a fairly remarkable reflection of the elegant buildings of the square in front.
