What travellers are saying
- mary wchester33 contributionsA great way to spend a rainy day in Montpellier. A big variety of art works from all eras. Nicely presented. Didn't notice a cafe though but there are some nearby.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joszoric7 contributionsVery nice experience for children and teenagers, they can learn and appreciate the water life of our planet. Ticket price is reasonable and attendants friendly. Great chances to take pictures.Written 6 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RazorfishLittle Rock, AR3,866 contributionsPlace de la Comedie is a wonderful square in old town Montpellier. My wife and I visited during an excursion on a Viking Ocean Cruise this past November. The architecture is very French and very ornate. We loved it.Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TSinParisParis, France2,087 contributionsWe had a wonderful walk here yesterday; we did the 'Tamaris' walk that is about six kilometers and an easy walk. At first, we saw about a dozen storks on their nests high in the trees or man-made platforms. Quite a sight. Later there are so many species of birds to see, including the emblematic pink flamingos. You can take the tram line Lattes Centre (terminus) and from there it is a pleasant 30-minute walk to the Nature House and beginning of trails.Written 5 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marshall BFerney-Voltaire, France3,678 contributionsParticularly pretty when the sunlight comes through the stained glass and "colors" the columns. Worth a visit but be aware of the climb up and down (if you are coming from the center of town) to get to it - fortunately there are railings available to make your way down to the cathedral - I would not want to try it on a rainy day, even with those railings. Note that the closing time (it was 1700 when we were there) is taken strictly, so be aware of that as well when you plan your visit.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mssweetpotato5 contributionsIt got my attention this zoo while looking for activities in Montepellier because, to be honest, first said it was for free and then when we went it was beauiful and the animals well taken care but the Amazonas (which has an cost) was closed.Written 7 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RazorfishLittle Rock, AR3,866 contributionsMy wife and I visited Montpellier during and excursion on a Viking Ocean Cruise last November. It was a lovely city but the on and off rain spoiled some of our enjoyment. We saw the Arch de Triumph at a distance but the weather prevented us from walking to the site. We liked much of the architecture downtown. Hopefully, we can visit again during good weather because I like the vibe of the city.Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I like taking a walk there just to admire the beautiful view of the surrounding.Written 22 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In addition to advice, they organise walking tours, two of which I took and they were the highlights of my stay here.Written 26 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RazorfishLittle Rock, AR3,866 contributionsMy wife and I toured Chateau de Flaugergues during an excursion on a Viking ocean cruise. The chateau looks impressive from the outside. However, the most interesting fact about the chateau is that it is only one room deep. It was apparently built to look majestic but the owner didn’t want to go to the expense to add more rooms.Written 4 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IMH1960Wiltshire, UK136 contributionsWalked through here several times as our hotel was nearby in Antigone district. Neoclassical buildings look impressive and views to river Lez impressive.Written 13 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Millie024Llantwit Major, UK532 contributionsIt’s FREE and belongs to the University! However, parts of it are only open intermittently and our visit did not coincide with those times, so we missed the medicinal study collections. There are some large (locked) glass houses, seemingly sheltering cacti. We saw a couple of frogs in a pond, and there is a bamboo grove. A shady place, but rather overgrown. Some few remains of an earlier garden. By October, most of the flowering plants were over, but we did see a couple of colourful pomegranates on a tree. Sadly the upper entrance was shut, so we had to walk back to the lower one to leave.Written 7 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
