What travellers are saying
- Matthew PLondon, UK6,288 contributionsA covered or better described purpose built. The stalls are organised and the colours of the fruit amazing, fresh fish, and butchers. Some places have seats to eat, we bought a take away and sat out side, people watching at it's best.Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AllotmenteerconsumerLincolnshire, UK216 contributionsAll in all well worth a visit. Market ha held Wednesday and Saturday weekly.
Encouraged by last review, we also took local 515 bus (their website was good) from Cala D’or (Cala Egos district). Even at 8.50 first bus was full but second bus appeared 👍. Standing room only.
Bus dropped off in Santanyí (make a note of dropping off point as return pick up is on opposite side of road - I dropped a pin on Google maps). About 5 min walk to market proper.
Market sprawls around the ancient church and rambling streets. Mostly crafts, leather, jewellery, clothes etc. A few really good food stalls/fruit and veg, perfect if you are self catering. Unsurprisingly, it was well supported by holidaying visitors from across Europe particularly Germany. Local shops and restaurants were all open and well worth a look. Bought a great baguette lunch with a pastry.
All in all a great thing to do 👍😃Written 30 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As with all markets across Spain you’ll find some tat and knock off stuff but between that there is lots of local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and friendly local people selling their items. It gets busy so arriving early is advised.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JessYorkshire, UK55 contributionsVery nice market in the town area, but can get quite crowded on a evening especially with all the restaurants nearby bur is definitely worth a look aroundWritten 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve GRhyl, UK14 contributionsGood market stalls can be repetitive.you can get Fresh fruit&veg also.
It is quite compact so I would say keep an eye on your bags purses&wallets &phones. There may be pickpockets watching you, better to be safe than have them taken,I would suggest a bum bag with where you can put them in,,and once it's over your head&shoulders keep it zipped and in front of you.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is always worth a visit because find anything: food, fruits, cheese, olive oil, clothing, leather wear, toys and so on.
As usual we bought (and negotiated heavily) some nice souvenirs and more.

- AH0203Newcastle upon Tyne, UK9 contributionsWe went visited the market from Palma Nova. It cost €22 in the taxi which was a pleasant surprise as most people had mentioned it would be between €30 - €35.
The market itself was ok. It was roughly 80% clothes stalls all of which sold the exact same clothes and knock off bags etc.
Further into the square was a bit more traditional and there were around 10 stalls selling hand made bits and pieces. The fruit stalls were worth a visit. Cheap and delicious!
It kills a couple of hours but if you were deciding between things you wouldn't be missing much by not going.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The M221 contributionsGreat place for a Majorcan mooch! Everything from bags to candy and all the shmooky jewellery you can feast on in between.
Poured today but kind of authentic taking shelter under the canopies with the vendorsWritten 12 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great market, would recomend.
Just avoid the Roast Pollo (Chicken) van, he does not like tourists!
Regularly says no chicken left even though lots of locals buy chicken afterwards!
His other scam if you do get served (and chicken is delicious if you do!) Is to cut the whole chicken up and give only the legs and wings and the locals all the breast meat!
Happened twice now, wont be going back, go to the smaller Roast Chicken stall on the market instead!Written 4 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a bank with an ATM card machine, but it charged me £7 euros to withdraw £50. It is a nice morning market and is open from 9 am to 2.30 pm Spanish time. Travel by bus or taxi. A taxi was only £6 euros one way in July 2024.
I recommend this Son Servera Market.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The weekly market is held here on Mondays, the least popular day of the week for such an event. On the whole island there are only five taking place on a Monday, while on all other days there are more, with 13 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, ten on Sundays.
The most famous markets are probably the ones of Alcudia, Arta, Inca, Santanyi and Sineu, but also the one of Manacor is worth visiting, when in the area. The stalls are to be found in the pedestrianised centre, especially along the streets Jaume Domenge and Mercadol between Plaça Ramon Llull and Plaça General Weyler with plenty of stalls also in front of the main entrance to the big neo-Gothic church Mare de Deus dels Dolors.
At the Plaça de la Constituçion in the middle of all this is the covered market hall Sa Plaça, where every day of the week (except Sundays) fruit and vegetables are sold between 9am and 12 noon. It is the reason, why the Constitution Square is popularly known as 'Plaça de las Verduras'. The weekly Monday market starts around 8am and closes by 1.30pm.Written 1 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul BWarwick, UK213 contributionsNice market with plenty of stalls, rammed busy but thins out towards 2pm. Good market if you want local stuff, jewellery or knock of stuff!
