What travellers are saying
- Jasmine38Chichester UKChichester, UK1,973 contributionsWorth a short visit as entry only 3.50 euros. The remains of the baths are basically a couple of rooms but quite atmospheric and there is good signage and a 5 min explanatory video in English. We actually enjoyed the courtyard garden complete with seating as much as the baths. There are also toilets on site.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jasmine38Chichester UKChichester, UK1,973 contributionsThere are three sets of ruins on this large site so be prepared for some (easy) walking. Plenty of explanatory signage in English. Reasonable value at 4 euro pp, Inc entry to the museum which is behind the church by they city walls. Reasonably interesting but you're not going to be blown away if you've been to some of Roman sites in countries such as Greece and Turkey.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AJMacDLondon, UK445 contributionsI spotted this on the map and it gave a focus to a walk along the seafront. When we got there I was quite impressed at how much remained after thousands of years. There are plenty information boards to explain the history.Written 12 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ClaireLouiseDerbyshire, UK342 contributionsNice to spend time walking from the beach to the top view points. We probably spent an hour and half walking through the park to the 3 view points. The views were good. It could have had better signage around and not well kept but all in all we was glad to get out of the town and have a wanderWritten 26 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David BComber, UK32 contributionsIt was quite a walk, uphill, to the tower but the views once you got there were superb. Should you decide to tackle this walk, make sure to carry water. The tower isn't open so you're simply going there to experience the views down into Puerto Soller and along the cliff facing shoreline.Written 14 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Voyage87637Sandbach, UK114 contributionsA must see if you like history and for just 3 euros each!
The ruins date from 1000 BC and are surprisingly well preserved given their location. You can imagine what it must have been like when they were still inhabited!
A word of warning, there is very little shade and they only accept cash.Written 13 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The wooden structure allows you to get a perspective view of the site, and the different occupations are very well explained. A few kilometers away, in the prehistory room of the Museum of Manacor you can see the materials that archaeologists have found there. I also encourage you to visit the paleo-Christian complex of Son Peretó, another of the great sites in the region.Written 29 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,709 contributionsThis is basically an entrance to the old city, just a port. And this is where I met up with the bus that took me back to my cruise ship. So a practical meeting spot, but not a photogenic tourist spot.Written 27 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eddie PNottingham68 contributionsDown a narrow lane just out of Arta and not well signed. Small car park but few people there. Only 2 euros and a quiet shaded walk on rough paths around very old ruins. Worth going if you are into archaeology or getting away from busy features.Written 23 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dorota LEdinburgh, UK9 contributionsA rock constellation from brown century. Nothing exciting. If you don't have other places to see than you can walk there ;)Written 24 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rikbrown73Sheffield, UK214 contributionsSituated in the middle of S'illot surrounded by hotels and restaurants is not where you would expect to find this 3000 year old ruin, but a lovely walk through this brings to mind just how long this island has been inhabited. There is a well defined and secure path going through the site with sturdy walkways to give you a good view over areas of the ruins. There are also plenty of information on boards giving a good background unto what you can seeWritten 14 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David HEdinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom15 contributionsLovely quiet site with great views. Quite well signed from the road, with a short walk on a path not accessible to people who can't walk easily (including a stile). A few interpretation boards.Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- nikkialan2018Phoenix, AZ76 contributionsIt was neat to find off the road . Hidden: had to research the history on it. I would just go the way we did. - nnmercmanCamberley, UK14,293 contributionsDriving across country form Magaluf towards Santa Ponca I saw a notice board at a junction and decided to take a closer look. Turns out these are Bronze Age ruins which were excavated in the 60s and during the dig they discovered remains of two fires with bones, pottery and bronze tools. At one time this would have been a dwelling and if you consider the timeline of around 1650BC then you’ll get some idea of how long ago we’re talking about! This is not something worth a detour but if passing then you might like to check it out.Written 3 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
