What travellers are saying
- Lisa DLeicester, UK74 contributionsWould definitely recommend a visit. The house tour is a must see with artworks, sculptures and interesting finds. There's works by Picasso, Yoko Ono, Yayoi Kusama, Rembrandt and pieces from Yves Saint Laurent.
We were also lucky enough to see Ben (owner and artist) in the hallway.
The rich collection of objects are truly inspiring.
Outside the sculpture park is quirky, eccentric and fascinating. The two underground galleries are interesting but you have to pay an additional fee to enter. There should be one full ticket covering all areas to visit and maybe separate tickets for the house tour and then the garden/underground galleries.
Either way I'd recommend a fully immersive visit.
Beware...take a picnic...DO NOT try the restaurant. The waiters are rude at best. They ignore you for as long as possible...we left because they, there were 2 of them, walked in and out of the kitchen passing us a number of times with an air of superiority...quite unnecessary and really lets down an otherwise friendly and calm place. We had tried to eat there on our visit last year but the same thing happened...this time we decided to give them another opportunity but nothing has changed. The food offering would complete the package here and make your visit truly memorable. They are missing a trick. Such a shame.Written 1 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, we had a lovely hour looking around. It is really fun and highly recommended!Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Had the Cesar salad to start which was ok, the Paella was distinctly average and the cheesecake pretty terrible.Service was slow and the advertised singer never appeared.Written 14 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - david wHove, UK142 contributionsIf you love Mallorca, then you'll love Bardolet's paintings and you'll love this gallery. In the centre of Valldemossa, the gallery is purpose built, and comprises three floors of exhibition space. The main gallery on the first floor has a wonderful collection of Bardolet's paintings, landscapes and village scenes, plus a second gallery for visiting exhibitions. Right now there's an exhibition of Carloandres' paintings from Morella in Valencia, of similar subject matter to Bardolet's, and on the top floor, a superb exhibiton of Tuareg jewellery. On the ground floor there's a small shop with some nice products including a good selection of prints. There's also a corner for coffee and free Wi-Fi. Everything is of high quality, well maintained, immaculately clean, and accessible. A great homage to Bardolet and his beloved Mallorca.Written 2 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DiecysieteSoller, Spain1,123 contributionsWent to see the art exhibition there by Sharon MacLaren, and visited the rest of the museum afterwards. The museum is laid out as it would have been in the 1800's on the ground and 1st floors, with the addition of couple of exhibitions on the 1st floor of botanical drawings and archaeological finds. On the too floor, there is an exhibition of old photography equipment in one room, and the other room has examples of clothing from the period.
The little patio garden is a lovely calm spot to sit for a while at the end of the visit.
The art exhibitions change regularly, and are free to enter, the museum costs 5€Written 8 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
