Very nice, clean and well kept coastal area. White sand and clear sea which stretches for miles. Also a very good (and flat) jogging and cycling route if you enjoy that. Not that many restaurants for such a large area and the ones I went in struggled with English...but nothing Google Translate couldn't fix.

My husband and I loved our visit to Nuragica. Being Canadian, we had never heard of the Nuragic people and their history. The tour not only explained their history and culture but made the experience interactive. It was unique in its delivery and I would highly recommend the visit.

Didn’t really have any expectations before visiting this thing but the views from the top were stunning all around the area and the old building itself had lovely architecture.

We like to visit the local market if we have time. We did and enjoyed it. It’s located near the centre. The building itself is large and simple but inside the rich selection of goods is incredible! We just wandering among stalls and we were amazed. We bought fresh salmon, other fish and srimps, cheese, ham, olives to cook them in our apartment instead of eating in a restaurant. We ate lots of fruit, too. We enjoyed it!

Well above our expectations: very rich in artefacts, excellent explanations in very good English, engagingly written and not full of scientific words.

I read in advance some Google reviews which said the museum is small. Really? It is 4 floors!!! I noticed when we were there that by the time people reached the 4th floor little had still patience for yet another broken pot :). Neither did we.

Also: The ladies at the ticket office were very attentive and proactively informed us our son of 16 does not have to pay. We had already read this in a Google review (and had cross-checked on their site) and came prepared because the day before when we were at the Barimini Nuraghi place the ticket person refused to agree with us people until the age of 17 had reduced tariff (despite the fact it was written in 4 languages at the ticket office! ).

This stunning cathedral is located in the Old Town, in the Castello district, on one of the seven hills. It’s on the highest point of the capital city but it’s worth to climb up and visit it. It’s the most important church of the city. It’s from 13th century and it took more than 400 years to build the cathedral. The white marble facade is very impressive. Inside it’s very richly decorated. The crypt (in baroque style) is also worth a visit, it’s very important, too.

It is one of the oldest and the most important sanctuary of the island. It became one of the landmark of Cagliari. Its origin came back to 14th century. The famous statue of the Virgin Mary (can be seen inside) has an interesting legend. The sanctuary is located on a hill on the eastern part. The building itself is impressive, nice architecture, but the interior is less beautiful.

Lovely park, perfect for a sit down and picnic. It has a play area so is good for children too as well as a lot of animals to look at. Furthermore, it is free entry so definitely worth a visit if you want to spend a few hours away from the city.

I visited the place twice - in December and February. Flamingos come to spend the winter in Sardinia and park of Molentargius lake is one of the most easily accessed places where you can spot those birds. At the information point you can arrange excursions with a guide or take a walk or even better - hire a bike (for a fee - check my photos) and ride along the salines. A lot of fun for birdwatchers but not only.

TIP: if you'd like to spot some more flamingos, the other good place is saline lake south-west of Cagliari adjacent to road SS195 (car required)

There are so many churches, arches, monuments, statues, and typical narrow streets with family run gastronomy...

We found the entrance to the trail up to the Devils Saddle pretty easily (there is an info board almost directly opposite the carpark for the Calamosca Hotel and the trail starts there) we followed the green paint spots on the floor/rocks all the way to the top where we enjoyed the spectacular views of Poetto beach. Some of the green spots were a bit worn away, but we managed to mostly keep to the trail all the way to the top. The path was rocky and uneven underfoot as you would imagine so would recommend wearing decent shoes. Enjoy a celebratory lunch and a glass of wine at the Calamosca Restaurant when you get back down.

Very affordable way to spend a couple of hours. Lots of interesting plants ; many sign posted in both Italian and English. Could use a bit of maintenance but worth a visit.
