The castle itself is quite dominant over the city of Vinci and gives the opportunity of a magnificent view over the near Hill's wineries and cities. It is a touch of history, since it's date back to 12th century and it has rich, but, as far as I saw, unpreserved enough history. However, if a person visits Vinci, the castle and the city are amazingly picturesque, but for me the museum part has a lot to be worked on. Beautiful place, nevertheless, especially if you go there early in the morning, before the shop's humble.

When we visited on 04/11, the sculpture was just being reinstalled after refurbishment. It is located in Piazza Guido Masi and good views can be had from Museo Leonardiano from the observation platform in the replica room.

The church first mentioned in 1132, it has been reborn many times. The bell tower dates from the mid 1800’s and the façade from the mid 20th century. The interior is a central nave with 2 side aisles, with 4 chapels. Just inside the entry portal on the right is the Chapel of the Baptistery with the baptismal font that is thought to have been used when Leonardo da Vinci was baptized on April 16, 1452.

Just a great place to walk around and soak in the Italian culture. Great views and typical shopping.

This large hand laid brick paved terrace encompasses the north side and back of the castle and is home to L’Uomo Vitruviano di Leonardo. It also affords great views of the olive covered Vincian hillsides. It is named for the 1st mayor of Vinci after the fall of fascism

"...Men without peace" an artist impression by Marconcini and Cinelli of "explosions" by Leonardo, beautifully situated on the hill side next to the museum at Via Montalbano.
