- Dennis EAlphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands235 contributionsThe area looks amazing and has some nice spots to hang around, especially for families with children. There's the awesome monkey park and a large zipline area for children. There are deer and hogs in enclosed areas and a lovely looking 'lake' with lots of flowers and a big fountain. Apeldoorn itself has more areas like these around as well as the nature reserve nearby. Definitely worth a weekend trip!Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands6,254 contributionsSince 1876 this city park attracts visitors. At first especially from the rich villa neighborhood in which it is located, later on also from the general population of Apeldoorn. It is much smaller than the Oranje family backyard at Het Loo, but more conveniently situated on the margins of Apeldoorn' s center.
English lanscape is the dominant style of the park plan with curved paths, pondlike bodies of water, fountain, grassy lawns with beautiful flower beds and majestic tall trees. Excellent for some relaxation after in my case an exhausting cycling tour from Rotterdam 135 km away.Written 13 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's close to the city centre, roughly 5 minute walk. It's walking distance to the Paleis het Loo.Written 26 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Annet and Wim EApeldoorn, The Netherlands164 contributionsThey kiss each other, but sometimes not, then we can see abstract lines against the sky.
The monumental new needle, a wedding gift from the Apeldoornse population to crown prince Willem Alexander and princess Maxima, is flaunting at the station square since 2007.
The 17-meter-high sculpture, designed by Jeroen Henneman (born 1942 in Haarlem), is a contemporary variant of the classic obelisk. The order is inspired by the needle of Pieter Puype which in 1901 by the residents of Apeldoorn was offered to Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Hendrik.
Henneman made his ultimate Kiss, a spatial drawing of stainless steel. The slim tower hurls itself elegant up, ending in an embrace in the air. A symbol of love and a beautiful memorial for the princely couple.
Posted next to the railway station, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of daily life, the picture is a meeting point. The pedestal of natural stone functions as a bank. On the station square of Apeldoorn you have a date near the Kiss, can it be more beautiful?Written 23 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has a selection of about fifty different shops and two levels (ground floor and second floor). The plus: you'll stay dry shopping. The interior decorator sometimes goes over the top and makes the mall look a bit 'loud'. The amount of shops does not really compare to big malls with more shops and diversity, but it is okay and clean. You won't find restaurants inside the mall, but there are lots of choices if you walk out the mall.Written 17 August 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
