- mcgsn14Cardiff, UK15 contributionsWe visited in August which was probably a mistake as it was so busy. We did manage to walk amongst monkeys but due to it being so busy they did seem to hide away.
They appear to be looked after well. Lots of information boards and places to eat.Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Though the past reviews mentioned this place was not for English speakers. However, our experience was completely different. We were provided with an English insrtuction sheet and the instructor delivered a training in English in a friendly manner. All the obstacle courses were well signed and it was a lot of fun. The best family experience witn teens! The place do not provide food (just a casual consession stand with pops, juice and icecream), so I recommend to eat something before you go. Bathrooms were clean and they also provide a locker space.Written 19 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dennis EAlphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands235 contributionsThe area looks amazing and has some nice spots to hang around, especially for families with children. There's the awesome monkey park and a large zipline area for children. There are deer and hogs in enclosed areas and a lovely looking 'lake' with lots of flowers and a big fountain. Apeldoorn itself has more areas like these around as well as the nature reserve nearby. Definitely worth a weekend trip!Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas SAlmere, The Netherlands50 contributionsA fun day out with the family! We enjoyed the trip back and forth from Apeldoorn and the layover at the "remise" gave us a chance to see a lot of cool, old trains. The on-board catering has friendly personnel and decent coffee.Written 10 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rune GAarhus, Denmark6 contributionsWe visited the park with our small children aged 2 and 5. The petting animals and the small bicycles where an instant success. We had a lovely day st the park. It's clean and well maintained and there's lots of fun for young children. But.... If you don't speak Dutch it can be very hard to find your way around the park. All information, website, posters, flyers etc are in Dutch. The young staff at the cafeteria could unfortunately not understand us, but we did get some food though :) another thing was that a visa and Mastercard sticker was shown at the entrance, but I could only pay with Mastercard at the cafeteria. Luckily we had some cash.
All in all it was a fantastic trip, but the park should consider that foreigners also visit the park.Written 17 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are 2 parking areas, number 1 is located right in front of the access and number 2 a short 5 minute drive on the complimentary shuttle provided by the park. Please note both areas require payment of 10 euros which you must pay at the machines which will then deliver you the token needed for existing the parking lots.
Upon entering the park you'll have some toilets to your left hand side which were kept rather clean. You'll then find many attractions for children which are included in the price paid, they can be used as many times as wished and some of them you can join your children. Lines moved rather quickly.
There were many many interesting attractions, children will surely have the time of their lives, mostly if accompanied by some friends.
I really liked the area at the back of the park where it's possible to enjoy a lounge chair and soak up some sun while taking a break and keeping an eye on your children enjoying the games available there.
Did you get hungry and thirsty after a while?.....no problem, you can either take your own food and drinks from home or buy at the various outlets onsite.
This park is ideal for children 3 to 10.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has been cultivated over a period of 300 years! A very pleasant area to walk through because of the variety of nature presentations and the presence of wild life such as deer.
Oak and fir forest, brooks and ponds, moors and meadows, all accessible by well maintained trails. The longest route is just under 15 km. Hard to imagine that until recently just one family and their guests could enjoy the landscapes. Now open to the general public, but -very Dutch- payment is required.
Entry fee: 2€ for a one day pass.Written 12 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At first especially from the rich villa neighborhood in which it is located, later on also from the general population of Apeldoorn. It is much smaller than the Oranje family backyard at Het Loo, but more conveniently situated on the margins of Apeldoorn' s center.
English lanscape is the dominant style of the park plan with curved paths, pondlike bodies of water, fountain, grassy lawns with beautiful flower beds and majestic tall trees. Excellent for some relaxation after in my case an exhausting cycling tour from Rotterdam 135 km away.Written 13 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WimpyAusSydney, Australia14 contributionsGreat place to spend a few hours with kids on a warm day. Setting is unique. As with most pools in the Netherlands, don't assume there will be lanes roped off for lap swimming. It's all about having fun. The competition pool is a free for all on a busy weekend. On the flip side, on colder rainy days, you can often get the entire competition pool to yourself! Check the opening times as they are limited in the shoulder season.Written 27 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - achan34Sittingbourne, UK154 contributionsTook a family trip on this railway fun was had by all. The old coaches were pulled by large locomotive and the journey was interesting!!! Initially the road crossings were automatic but as the journey went on the numerous crossings had to be hand operated by the train crew. Refreshments are a valuable On the train, but beware the loos large pole straight to the track!!. The booking office at Beekbergen did not accept English debit cards, either by reader or slide. Recommend getting an all day ticket for the whole line. We started at Beekbergen, where there is some free parking. The train has a wheelchair lift, otherwise it is up three steel steps on the coaches. The facilities at Beekbergen were good with disabled toilet and a small shop and restaurant. You are free to explore the engine sheds and outside areas. Thoroughly recommend a day on the railway.Written 14 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Inspire7296954 contributionsWhat a wonderful experience we had with Charmaine at SUP SCHOOL Apeldoorn. Perfect location, no other water-traffic, easy access to the water.
We were supplied with everything we needed even drinking water.
Even turning up with our dog did not phase Charmaine. He too came along and was looked after. I am now so much more confident thanks to her!Written 14 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
