- JessicaSavona, Italy6 contributionsA simple fortress with cute bars and restaurants. They sometimes do music events at night, and they are very fun as they are out in the open and have a very large stage.Written 26 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - trevorelliottHelston, UK8 contributionsBeautiful interior which costs €3 to visit. Website says only open Sat and Sun but we visited today (Friday) and it was open.Written 19 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jürgen W32 contributionsThe visit to the museum was very interesting and is recommended for anyone interested in the history of Apple Computer. All major Apple models are shown. The museum director could unfortunately hardly speak English, but still made a really great effort to show me as much as possible in the exhibition. There are some highlights to see, such as a small robot that can be programmed with the Apple II. Or a transparent Mac Portable, as well as an original Apple I circuit board and much more. In any case, I enjoyed the visit very much.
Opening hours: Saturday afternoon and sunday morning.Written 11 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Museum in the fortress was cheap to visit and has plenty of archeological exhibits - probably not one with young children but interesting enough…
Small port area has couple of nice eateries in but old town is mixed in with plenty of new builds and busy roads so not the truest “authentic” Italian history if that’s what you’re looking for…
Worth a morning visit but probably not a place to spend much more time than that.Written 8 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum is very well curated and the team behind it is fresh and young.
I'm very glad I've finally visited this gem in the heart of the city.
Will definitely come back! :)Written 3 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JJJC_FamilyVirginia795 contributionsAnother cathedral in Italy that surprises you in size and beauty considering the fact it is not in a major city. I thought that we would zip in for 5-10 minutes max. We spent maybe 20-30 minutes and we could have spent more, but we got out late and we wanted to see the Castle. Google now says it is closed permanently. I could not find any info on that online or almost any info about the cathedral, itself. Not everything is on the net. It would be a shame if it had closed. Many churches have either closed, have very limited days and hours open or you can’t find out what the status is, even if you go to the church and look for some indication on when it is open. This is particularly true in Italy. Even if you are not Christian, it’s a shame that these wonderful buildings are not even open to be seen. Oh well.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- edosavonaSavona, Italy39 contributionsThe Torre Leon Pancaldo or Torre della Quarda, commonly called "Torretta", is a medieval tower located on the port of Savona, at the entrance to the central Via Paleocapa, and is considered the symbol of the city.
After the destruction of the walls by the Genoese in 1527 the tower remained isolated and in the following centuries underwent a series of alterations. In particular, the entrance side, which once had to be open and covered by a barrel vault, was walled up and the interior of the tower was divided into several floors.
The tower, like the square where it stands, is today dedicated to Leon Pancaldo, a savonese navigator who accompanied Ferdinando Magellano during his first circumnavigation around the world.Written 6 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you stay at the hotel, you get a parasol and two sun loungers for free. The are two bars and three restaurants right on the beach !!Written 3 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NelsonMXFuengirola, Spain96 contributionsAnother tower to visit in Savona. Nothing too exciting but it is another Savona landmark. There are places to sit and it is nearby to restaurants and bars....Written 8 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA4,468 contributionsWe were pleasantly surprised to encounter a microbrewery in Savona, though they only had four beers to sample. Nonetheless, all four were excellent. We did not sample the food but liked the atmosphere with a couple benches out front. A few blocks off the beaten track, but, if, like me, you enjoy fine crafted beer then check it out.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
