- Zaira GItaly190 contributionsI recently visited statue at the end of the pier and it brought back many memories! My friend and I used to visit it every Sunday morning because she had gone with her boyfriend to seal their lock when he came over to visit her. Penelope must've brought them luck as several months later they finally managed to move in together and now have a lovely daughter and are still much in love! She is there as a symbol of love and in her time she would patiently await the sailors' return home. Locals told us it was beautiful and it is.
