What travellers are saying
- Brian JCork, Ireland152 contributionsHad a enjoyable family walk with the 3 kids, the youngest being 3. It’s about 4.5km in total if you turn right when you enter with mostly downhill when reaching the cross. Really nice views and great to kill a couple of hours.Written 19 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia J10 contributionsjust a quiet walk along River Blackwater after dinner. Good flooding, lighting. Hear the river at the former weir rush over the rocks.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jcalvert32584 contributionsLabbacalle is on the side of a small road, right next to someone's house (see picture). We stopped for about 5-10 minutes to view the tomb and the surrounding countryside. Shout out to the two calves who walked over to check us out. It's an incredibly well-built wedge tomb. I will say that it is behind a fence for a reason, and I was upset to see pictures online of people climbing the fence and posing on the rocks. 1. That's dangerous. 2. That's disrespectful. 3. You risk damaging a 4,000-year-old monument. Be smart and respectful by viewing from a distance.Written 13 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MO4975678910Amherst, New Hampshire, United States3,109 contributionsI had wanted to visit this Church because my Father's Father had preached at the Church before leaving Ireland to serve as a Missionary to the Native Tribes in Canada. The Church is on the route of the local town walk, and is located across the river from the Patrick Street shopping area of Fermoy. Out front of the Church there are the three "Statues", and across the street is the Virginia House B & B, a great place to stay run by Leo and Mary. Up the hill are the Barracks areas and the Famine Graveyard. An interesting side note is that the entrance to the church was structured so that when the regiments visited they could enter the building without having to lower the regiment's Standards.Written 2 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom E7 contributionsIn fermoy for the weekend with my 2 kids. Aged 6 and 4. Came to happy days and they had a great time. It's a small play area but they seemed to enjoy it. It was €7.50 per child for 90 minutes. There is a nice seating area for parents with hot and cold snacks. There is also an area for smaller children. It is worth a trip to occupie the kids if your staying in the fermoy area. I was here for the weekend with my kids and the weather was terrible so it came in handy.Written 29 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
