This gallery is always reinventing itself mostly with Northern artists and has regular shows to highlight their works. These events are always very popular and the owner and his staff deserve top marks for putting on these special evenings, which are always well attended.Pricing is middle to top end but judging by the red stickers they have it right.

Ellie made me feel so at ease from the moment I stepped in. The treatment was really relaxing which was a different experience to what I’ve had before which had felt rushed and like I was just another person through the door. My LVL looked great and I’m going back in a few weeks for my next treatment.

Me and two of my friends (who live in the West Midlands) travelled to Manchester to enjoy a spa day at The Marriot.

It was awful from the moment we arrived. We booked the Spa for a Saturday and from the moment we entered there were children running around all over the lobby. We walked into the swimming area where there were children’s SWIMMING LESSONS taking place! It was loud and not what we were expecting at all! The sauna was broken and apparently had been out of use for several days. Had we known about any of this, we would not have booked the spa day as it was not relaxing at all. The swimming lessons took place till 2pm and we arrived at 11am!

I then went for my treatment which was scheduled to be at 12pm. The relaxation room had 5 beds which had blankets on them. The blankets were not replaced for clean ones between use which I found very unhygienic. We were told hot drinks were included, which was not the case. There was only a vending machine in the lobby. I was not seen or taken for my treatment till 12:15. Women were coming up from the lobby to the relaxation room in their outside clothing to fill out forms as there was nowhere to sit in the lobby. The treatment room was so cold that I had to actually ask the therapist to turn on the heating as I had goosebumps. The noise of the women complaining about the spa from outside the treatment room disturbed the my entire treatment and I was not relaxed whatsoever, it was noisy and not enjoyable. There were women walking around the lobby and hotel area with no slippers as they said they weren’t provided with any. The pool was also very cold. We could not wait to leave!

Following this, me and my friend attempted to contact the spa and were directed to the Supervisor, to whom we explained why we were very disappointed with our experience. We hadn’t received a response until 3 weeks later! She offered 20% compensation which we were not satisfied with considering how terrible we felt from the experience that we paid £85 for (not even including and food or drinks)!! I rang to speak with her and she asked me to repeat the issues which we had, even though my friend had already sent her a detailed email regarding all of the issues prior to this call. I explained again what had happened and why we were very upset with all of the issues. She then emailed me the following day to say that she can provide 50% compensation and that it is already being processed into the account paid. I attempted to ring her again as I felt this should have been a decision that should have been discussed, to which I was informed I would receive a call back. I was left waiting and had received a call back. I found this utterly unprofessional! I voiced clearly that we requested a full refund for all of our inconvenience and poor experience, that it was the worst spa day I have ever had and that we were looking forward to a relaxing day. We travelled far especially for this. The Spa Supervisor said there’s nothing else she can do and ignored anything I said.

All around the service and standards of this Spa are POOR and the Supervisor of the Spa was unprofessional and rude! Me and my friends are so disappointed with the amount we paid for such a terrible experience!
