The club house is good and the locker room has been upgraded since I last played. The course is challenging and was in reasonable condition. Overall good value for money.

Nam Rin Beach is one of three beaches in the Ban Chang district of Rayong Province. The others are Payun Beach and Phala Beach.

Nam Rin is, to my mind, the pick of them.

It is about 500 meters long, with golden sand, and at the eastern end, large boulder-type rocks, on the largest of which sit a pod of granite dugong statues, which are probably the most photographed dugongs in Thailand as those in the wild are an increasingly rare species.

Also at this end of the beach is a garden, but it is unkempt and littered and I do not consider it at all a pleasant place to sit or linger.

The back of the beach is lined with stately Casuarina Pines, and these form shady picnic spots popular with Thais.

There are a couple of restaurants along the service road, but otherwise no real development, which makes this a peaceful retreat.

Nice to walk around, to buy some street food; some restaurants around. Local atmosphere; not the most clean beach

Emerald Golf Course is one of our favorite courses. The caddies are well-trained, therefore, helpful and friendly. Their guidance for playing the course is superb. Although the course is quite hilly, has Bermuda grass which can be a challenge, particularly when you play with clubs, it is an interesting course. Golf carts are, of course, available, but then the price of the golf goes up. Green fees and caddie fees are reasonable and the tip is usually 300 Baht for the caddie. Restaurant is very open with a limited view of the golf course. The food is good and quite reasonably priced. We are sometimes hampered by small flies in the restaurant, but that's Thailand. The shower facilities could be modernized, but the water is warm, towels are provided, lockers are available for storing your clothes and valuables and the changing rooms are cool. Hair dryer is available, although a bit ancient. Depending on where you come from, traffic can be a challenge during rush hours.

I really enjoyed playing St Andrews. Course was in good condition. Bunkers a bit rough. My caddie was excellent. Club house is pretty rubbish. There’s a western style outside bar that sells burgers and beers etc which did the job after a round. Already booked to go back and play the sister course.

It was very basic, there is 2 cafes, 1 in the arrival hall, and 1 next to the gate when you pass the check in.
It's around 45 minutes from pattaya beach, and it's kind of great as there are an office on the 1st floor next to gate check in that asks you wither you have a taxi to where you heading too or not, so they can afford you one.

With some trepidation I read other reviews and wondered whether GC was still as good as old - it used to be my favourite course 20 years ago. So we played there: 9 holes on Friday (got rained off) and then again 18 holes on Sunday.
All I can say is the course is still good and there was no obvious signs of being overrun by golfers of any particular persuasion other than Pattaya Sports Club.
We did play only the green Valley course and local advice was this is still kept nicely (which we agreed with), but that the St Andrews and Silky Oaks courses are not so well kept.
Anyway the course is good the caddies OK (though variable) and the clubhouse seems a little tired.
Would I play there again - definitely
