Weekday bicycle ride from Taman Tasik Milenium to entrance Sungai Chiling (16km). Best to leave before 730am so it is more cooling and to avoid traffic as this is a trunk road and you need to take caution of the cars and lorries as some spots are a bit narrow. The ride towards the direction of Bukit Frasers was uphill so the return ride was great downhill. Great views of the rapids from the bridge and Ampangan dam.

Beware of the dogs on the road if riding alone. They tend to stay away if you are ride in a pack.

Had an excellent kampung food at Dam Cafe near Darul Quran.

Hope to arrange ride up to Frasers Hill later.

One of our top favorite places for hiking & camping. Lata Medang has the best waterfall in Sungai Pertak, Kuala Kubu Baru. It takes around 1 hour from Damansara to reach Sungai Pertak. And it will take about another few hours to reach Lata Medang Waterfall.

Elevation around 600-700m and 4KM to reach the spot. Planning to return and camp there. Recommended to new beginners and recovery tracks for injury runners.

Entry is RM3 per adult. Toilets are bad. I had to change in the car. Hot spring water is nice and hot. You can have a picnic here too.

Took us approximately an hour and a half drive through the beautiful rolling hills to arrive at Sungai Selangor Dam. It was completed in 2002 and located along the trunk road to Bukit Fraser from Kuala Kubu Bharu town.

Not really difficult to miss as you will see a number of cars at the road side taking beautiful photos. However, if you do decide to stop by the Splash Information Center, it’s open Tuesdays through Sundays 9am till 4pm with free entry. In the event you do visit, (which we didn’t) don’t forget to take some time to admire the lovely views of the majestic lake especially where the spillway controls the water level within the dam.

If you are into photography like we are, it is a nice stop over especially with the selection of the mountains in the lake.

This place is famous for the rainbow staircase. The actual temple building is just normal but there is a corner for photos with a wedding background, swing and so on.

The starting point is located between Fazer's Hill gap and Sg Semangkuk waterfall. I was there with a group of friends trying out this unfamiliar trail. Bukit Chorocho or local people pronounced it as Koroko is not a well-known hiking trail in KKB area. Parking space was limited but you can park your car at nearby Sg Samangkuk waterfall and car-pool to the starting point. The hike would take about less than 1km until you reached the river. You can either get your shoes wet or walk across barefooted. The water was clean and clear and very refreshing. After crossing the river, the hike up was quite steep, and you need to preserve until you reach the peak. There was no view, but the peak has ample space for you and your friends to relax and celebrate the achievement reaching Bukit Chorocho. Always be extra carefull hiking down as you will need to balance your feet with slippery and steep trail. One more thing to be reminded there were a lot of leeches around. Just be ready with your leech repellent. You can start your hike around 7 to 8 am and can complete before 12 pm. after the hike you can change and wash at Sd Semangkuk waterfall to refresh before heading for KKB town for lunch.

The exhibition is not going to wow you. It is small. However there are some interesting historical facts about Kuala Kubu Bharu and the curator is friendly.
